That Lance trade has really hamstrung them. They're kinda forced to try to build a roster that can compete for a SB with Jimmy G and honestly that's guys like CMC and Deebo who can create offense on their own. Hell, I can go out there and throw screens to CMC and Deebo.

I wouldn't be surprised if a third of our roster hasn't asked for a trade.

That and the only way the Saints would deal him within the division is for an absolute king's ransom. Sean Payton is going to the Chargers IMO.

Tanking is 100% in the NFL though. You still have to win a lottery in the NBA. You can pull off the perfect tank and still get screwed. The bottom line is that if you're not going to the playoffs, every game you win is hurting you in the long run. It's the most frustrating thing about being a pro sports fan. With college sports you always want to win. There's no competitive advantage to losing. With pro sports the reality is that there is a true competitive advantage to losing if you're not post season bound.

I would've preferred a 1st but the reality is that he's a RB coming off of two injury plagues seasons. It's a testament to his sheer talent that we still got what we did. Most RBs would be practically worthless after two IR seasons.

The more I think about it, don't be shocked if it comes out that we took this offer over a single 1st. Fitterer LOVES having lots of picks. He very well may have preferred an offer featuring a bunch of picks over one pick that would be seen as more valuable by lost draft charts.

Yep, gotta think this was the strongest deal on the table by a considerable margin. I'm sure we would've preferred to trade him out of the conference and everyone we were talking to was offered an opportunity to beat the offer.
