  1. I like Corral. My rankings go: 1. Howell 2. Corral 3. Willis Those are the only QBs I'd consider drafting in the 1st.
  2. A plan B is never a bad thing. That's why I think Ekwonu is the "safest" if the OT picks. With his run blocking skills and physicality he should make a very good guard if he doesn't pan out at tackle. OTs used to be considered safe picks but they've been anything but safe for the last 20 years or so with lots of busts. Someone's ability to slide inside shouldn't be a primary consideration but it's gotta be factored in IMO.
  3. My concern with Neal is that he should be the slam dunk #1 OT. Arguably one of the best OT prospects ever. He checks all the physical boxes. That he's not is a big red flag IMO.
  4. Evidently in our talks with the Browns we wanted them to pay a chunk of his salary like we did with Teddy trading him to Denver. That wouldn't be a bad deal to kick the tires. I just think the guy's cockiness is getting in the way and I'm not sure that's fixable. All QBs worth anything walk a fine line between cocky and confident but Baker is on the wrong side of it IMO.
  5. Wrong. He's over two years older than Howell. Pickett was born in September 1998, Howell June 2000. * Oh wait, sorry you meant Darnold. Disregard. Honestly, my pro comp is a poor man's Alex Smith. The physical tools are intriguing but then you watch him play and the whole is a lot less than the sum of the parts. Nothing pops in the game. He's just a guy out there.
  6. I'm assuming it wouldn't be a young star player. Honestly, it was probably just Sheena throwing mud at the wall.
  7. Even if you don't use it you can carry it over.
  8. Most of them are. Pickett is the age of a lot of kids coming out of grad school. He always looked very mediocre until he was a lot older and a lot more experienced than his competition. Huge red flag.
  9. Mentality wise, there's a comparison to be made there.
  10. Agreed. What I like about Howell is what can't be measured. The guy is always even keel and doesn't get rattled or discouraged. He does whatever he has to do to give his team a chance. He almost never ran before this year. He turned into a runner this year out of necessity. Howell just find a way to get it done. No, he might not always win but you oftentimes find yourself watching a UNC game and realizing... damn, without this Howell dude UNC would just be getting blasted.
  11. Burrow was running for his life last year. Still went to the SB.
  12. Someone is going to get a steal. Probably the Steelers.
  13. His nature. People are either calm, cool, and collected in pressure situations or they're not. I firmly believe that isn't a coachable trait. You have it or you don't.
  14. Except Pitt didn't ditch a leather football offense for a brand new modern offense like LSU did.
  15. Howell had one of the worst college OLs I've seen in recent years this year and only one legit receiving target. It's real obvious when these analysts have only watched games from this season. Of course he was one read and bolt. He had to be.
  16. It literally just happened this season. A career mediocre college QB came back as the oldest guy on the field now surrounded by an above average college team in a down ACC and it all combined to make him look like something that he's not. It's an illusion. Someone is gonna take the bait and way overdraft the guy. It's probably gonna be us.
  17. Yep. So let someone else fall into the trap of recency bias and overlook all those factors he had going for him this year and way overdraft him. He's still the same mediocre guy. He didn't change, the situation did.
  18. Darnold sucks. You gotta give up. I said before we traded for him that he has a fatal flaw. He's a panicker. You can't fix panic. It'll always rear it's ugly head.
  19. But we can. How did he play when he wasn't the oldest guy on the field and wasn't surrounded by an above average veteran team? Oh wee mayne. Without an extra year of eligibility, Pickett is entering the draft as a senior coming off a 2400 yard 13 TD 9 INT season. He's going undrafted in last year's draft. Reality.
  20. Much better supporting cast and he's as old as most second year NFL players. He's a literal man playing against boys. Swap Pickett and Howell and UNC probably wins 3 games and Pickett is a priority UDFA. Real talk. Pickett is the beneficiary of a better than average veteran team and an addition year of eligibility due to COVID.
  21. You must have missed my opinions on a lot of former Heels prospects then.
  22. He's gonna be the best QB out of this draft class.
  23. We don't do smart things at QB so that's off the table
  24. All signs are pointing this direction. I can get talked into Willis being worth a shot but we need to stay far away from Pickett.
