If we sign a big name aging LT I have to think we at least believe we have Watson in the bag. That's the only way a signing like that would make any sense. Or... it's an insanely desperate ploy to attempt to make ourselves more palatable to Watson.

Just to put it out there, I'm almost certain this person has been banned repeatedly for acting like a source and putting out utterly fake info.

Just gonna say, a lot of folks were talking about how relatively little guys like Elflein and Cam Erving were going to make and how inconsequential their contracts were at this point last year. Had they not been straight trash and proved to be serviceable starters they would've been correct. Unfortunately, they proved to be straight trash.

Gotta be better than what we had.

I hope it doesn't mean Chinn is gone. I hope he's signed to play FS with Chinn at SS. Chinn is a SS. That's where he needs to be.

All of these owners think they're the smartest people on the planet. Watching one fail has no bearing on what they do. They're smarter than that guy who failed.

Ultimately how a guy performs after his contract doesn't matter. It's that the contract was signed. For a college coach to get that money and control from an NFL team was unprecedented.

The scary thing is he might be both. Nothing more dangerous than maximum dumb and maximum desperate.

We can't talk about anyone else fuging over everybody. Tepper reset the coaching market hiring a bum from Baylor and he's going to reset the elite QB power structure in the NFL if he lands Watson. David Tepper is the most desperate man in football.

It really isn't. Growing up in NC, college basketball was EVERYTHING. Duke/Carolina might has well have been considered a national holiday. The sport overall has definitely fallen considerably in overall popularity. I thought it may have just been Colorado since everyone is transplants and the local college sports scene pretty much sucks, but then I move back here and see that it's a shadow of what it used to be back here in the hotbed too.

This is honestly what I expect. The Saints land Watsons and Tepper panics and backs up the Brinks truck for Jameis Winston.

I've never seen this level of desperation in the NFL. He didn't learn anything from going all in on Rhule because he's tripling down on Watson. He went from one shiny object to another.

Okay. We'll see. If we go through with this trade I'll be shocked if we aren't a bottom 10 D and I'd honestly expect bottom 5.

Super Bowl? The Texans only won a single playoff game with Watson.

We're also going to lose Gilmore, Bouye, Jackson and Reddick. If we lose Reddick and Burns there goes the majority of our pass rush. Losing Gilmore, Bouye, and Jackson would be losing three of our top 4 CBs. Losing Chinn would be losing our best all around defender. Make no mistake about it, our D would be GUTTED.

Elite offense with decent to good defense. We're about to field one of the worst defenses of all time if we end up trading away Burns and Chinn.

No idea who that is, but this being true should come as a shock to no one. It'll be hilarious if Tepper's refusal to do the obvious in firing Rhule is what ultimately costs him the QB he so desperately wants. My man is getting chin checked left and right in the NFL.

Ultimately the Texans don't hold the trump card here, Watson does.

Possibly but I doubt it. Ultimately I think he'll pick a favorite pitch and end up there.

It's all about who pitches Watson the best at this point.
