  1. One of those garbage guys was a starting WR for us last year and will be again this year. He's pretty good too.
  2. Really interesting prospect. Off the ball LB with ideal edge rusher length. His evaluations are probably all over the board across the league. He's one of those guys who could end up going a lot higher than most think because it's easy to see how a team could have him valued pretty highly. Other teams are going to be nervous about his height and the relative lack of comps for off the ball LBs.
  3. Yep. Elite talents with no significant question marks will still go high, but other guys? Yeah, I could see some teams questioning their love and dedication to the game. I don't necessarily think that's fair, but I think it's reality.
  4. Crazier things have happened. A lot of people have seemingly forgotten about the off-field concerns.
  5. Sucks but absolutely unsurprising. Great player and seems like a great guy but his injury list is a mile long.
  6. I think Darnold was simply our best bad option. We wanted Watson. Obviously that didn't work out in large part due to reasons that couldn't have been predicted. We talked to the Dolphins about going up to #3. Understandably, we weren't willing to pay that price. We made a significant trade offer for a proven QB in Stafford. We obviously took a look at the draft board and anticipated the guy(s) we liked at QB likely wouldn't be available where we were selecting. At best, Darnold was our fifth option. It is what it is. At least we don't have all that much invested in him all things considered given typical investments at the QB position and we've shown the willingness not to stick with our previous mistakes (see Bridgewater, Teddy).
  7. IMO, your mindset is the same one the decision makers have and -again, IMO - it's a dangerous one. Trying to be the best bad team you can be right now can prevent making the moves you need to make to be the best team you can be for the next decade. I'm not big on Lance. But if Fields is there at #8 he should absolutely be the pick IMO. Fields is the type of QB that would go #1 overall most years. This is just an insane QB class and it baffles me how many people seem blind to that and it's exactly why I was so pissed about that late season WFT win.
  8. I'm already signed up for it and deposit paid. It's supposed to be available here mid-late this year. It's a great thing for internet access to rural areas, but I am a bit concerned about the impact of thousands of low orbit satellites. Space junk is going to become an ever increasing problem.
  9. Yeah, I think you'd be hard pressed to find an optimistic fan base of any team that has three consecutive losing seasons. Now, the teams that are going to draft QBs highly next weekend might see a turnaround in optimism.
  10. Is constant bitching really any different than constant blind homerism? Just curious. Yeah, both sets of posters annoy me. I just don't really see a lot of difference in them.
  11. We're you around in the months prior to and following Cam's release? Honestly, I don't think the overall vibe of the board is anywhere nearly as bad as it used to be.
  12. There's always going to be disagreement. If everyone agreed on everything there would be no point in discussing. This place would just be one giant echo chamber.
  13. Where have I done any of this? I've certainly questioned whether they know what they're doing, specifically in terms of addressing the QB position but I haven't called any of them morons. Now Marty Hurney, on the other hand... yeah, I consistently and often called him a moron and I stand by that.
  14. BTW, I really HOPE that Darnold will be the answer but I really THINK that it's highly unlikely he will be.
  15. Winston was successful except for the turnovers. He put up big time numbers he just turned the ball over too much. Meanwhile, Darnold's TD:INT ratio (1.15:1) is still significantly worse than Winston's (1.38:1).
  16. An insult? Darnold would have to jump to another ladder to climb enough rungs to get to James Winston level play.
  17. I have little faith in Darnold. Mills has intriguing talent.
  18. As much as I don't like it, we've already made our QB trade. A team looking to add more draft assets isn't trading draft assets to move up in the draft after they've already traded three draft picks for Sam Darnold.
  19. Young LTs don't come cheap. Good on the Chiefs for watching their young elite franchise QB take a beating in the Super Bowl and then actually fuging doing something to address it. Had the Panthers been smart enough to do the same, maybe we wouldn't be trying to convince ourselves that Sam Darnold will be our savior.
  20. Honestly, that's fine with me. Seems like a lot of the best OTs over the past couple of decades are the guys who scouts are trying to pigeonhole as RTs only or even kicking them inside to OG. Scouts are to LTs what the Huddle is to #1 WRs. If the guy isn't a slam dunk HOFer he just doesn't belong. The problem for the scouts is that a lot of those guys have been busting over the past 20 years.
  21. I think he has a much better chance of being gone than starting. It'd be awesome if he improves drastically but all those healthy scratches last year tells me the staff has pretty much given up on him.
  22. Recruiting is non-stop at the college level. He's looked like this for quote awhile now. Basically ever since the wheels fell off last season.
  23. I mean, you could simply go back and watch his pressers before and after.
  24. Given the trade, I would've gone: Darrisaw - OT, VT Asante Samuel, Jr. - CB, FSU Davis Mills - QB, Stanford Chazz Surratt - LB, UNC Josh Myers - IOL, OSU Talanoa Hufanga - SS/LB, USC James Hudson - OT, Cincy James Wiggins - FS, Cincy
