  1. I mean, he's basically averaging 1100 yards per year with only one year of decent QB play where his TDs and efficiency numbers dramatically increased. The dude's a stud.
  2. What has happened in HS athletics busted full force into the college world with this NIL/transfer portal stuff. HS sports has been jacked up for a long time now. You have all these "prep schools" that are basically just diploma mills for athletes who hoover up all the good athletes they can get and they're all on scholarship. Then they go out and recruit decent athletes with rich parents to come onboard and pay outrageous tuition while they tout their success at getting their athletes college scholarships. Yeah, those athletes getting college scholarships are the same ones you're giving scholarships to so that you can use them to recruit the rich kids whose parents can pay for it all. You see the same thing in youth travel ball leagues. The whole thing is just getting crazy.
  3. Thank god he was brought to justice for these horrible crimes.
  4. Yep, you got a be flexible and you gotta be honest about your player evaluations. Yeah, you take what many considered to generational QB prospect in Trevor Lawrence but you can't turn around and pay him like a high tier franchise QB after a few years of mediocre play. That Marty Hurney approach of "let's pay him like he's elite and then maybe he'll start playing like it" almost never works out.
  5. Yep, you're better off needing a QB than you are financially shackled to a mediocre one.
  6. That's the other thing. With the way these QB contracts are going unless you have an elite MVP caliber tier QB you're honestly better off building an offense that is geared to revolve around establishing the run and leaning on play action to setup the pass than you are to pa my some mid to lower tier starter a huge chunk of your salary cap. Let somebody else pay that guy and draft another one.
  7. #2 rushing offense, #29 passing offense (one spot ahead of the Panthers)
  8. Everything goes in waves. As defenses geared up more to stop the passing game they've become more vulnerable to the run not to mention the added benefit that road grading run blockers don't command the crazy money that the dancing bear elite pass protectors do on the OL.
  9. I'm glad we didn't do this. https://www.facebook.com/NFLonCBS/videos/1177156331120032/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v This man looks like somebody's uncle at the cookout six beers deep talking about how he's gonna show these kids how he did it back in the day. LOL This dude looks washed as fug.
  10. Yeah, we've been the worst team in the league in the Tepper era. Honestly probably accurate. The games I've been to have been pretty pathetic and I don't blame the fanbase for it. Suck begets suck.
  11. Oh Jesus, they're just gonna talk about Deion's kid non-stop.
  12. It's pretty much impossible to predict our group right now because we're so reliant on young, unproven players. A ton of rookies and second year players heavy in our rotation.
  13. The only grilling/smoking apparatus I have now is my offset wood burning smoker. That's it. When I want to grill, I have a grill grate I can put in my fire box to cook directly over the fire. I don't do anything with charcoal or anything else at this point. Just straight cooking with a wood fire.
  14. Yeah, hell no. We have Bryce on a rookie deal. The last thing we need to do is take on somebody else's bad QB contract.
  15. There's probably no hard line in the sand I'm just hoping his play doesn't leave it in the gray area. Go out there and be the guy or just suck ass and let us know it's time to move on.
  16. And I don't blame the Panthers for hyping the guy up. It's not like you're going to create hype by putting out the message that your QB is mid at best and you hope the roster and coaching staff can carry him. That's just not how NFL marketing works. When you draft a QB in the 1st round much less #1 overall and much less a massive trade up to #1 overall, you have to be all in on that guy all the way up until you're not. That's just the way it is.
  17. My hope is that if we aren't very good and Bryce plateaus that if Morgan is retained that will be his mentality.
  18. It's just the difference between front office mentality and fan mentality. Front offices want to keep their jobs. Mediocre will keep you a job a lot longer than swinging for the fences and striking out. I mean, I get it. I can't be mad about it. It sucks, but in the same situation I'd probably make a lot more conservative decisions than I would vouch for as a fan.
  19. Ultimately, I really do hope that Bruce proves to be the guy. For one, that would be absolutely what's best for the Panthers. Secondly, Bryce really does seem like a truly decent and likeable guy. That's always fun to root for.
  20. At least with Lawrence he has all of the physical tools you could want in a QB. They still really screwed up paying him like the guy he could potentially be rather than the guy he is but I can kinda see how they got duped into that with him. With a guy like Bryce you know his physical upside is limited and he was supposed to be super NFL ready mentally. So if it's not clicking by year three and showing up on the field the red flags need to be flying big time. If he plateaus this year at the same level he was late last year it's going to be time to seriously consider drafting another QB high depending on how the draft board falls.
  21. Yeah, if that was his ceiling that's just not good enough to be the long-term answer but it might be good enough that the Panthers' brass doesn't have the guts to swing again.
  22. This. College is over and done with. We're about to find out what he can do on the NFL stage which as a Panthers fan and not an Arizona Wildcats fan is all I really care about.
  23. Bryce's play after coming back from his benching gives me a glimmer of hope but it's wild that a lot of Panthers fans are acting like he has arrived as a franchise QB because he put up some mediocre stats and basically simply just finally didn't look like a guy who flat out did not belong on an NFL field. I'm anxious to see what he looks like this year and I'm hoping for continued growth but I still haven't seen anything that leads me to believe that he's capable of being a high level starter. Hoping he proves me wrong but honestly the worst case scenario would be that he comes out this year and plays like he did late last year. That's purgatory QB level. The type of guy who organizations get led to believe might be "good enough" but you're not competing for SBs with that level of QB play. I want Bryce to boom or bust this year. Go out there and prove me wrong and look like THAT DUDE or just revert back to looking like he doesn't belong. Don't leave me in purgatory. Let's get an answer to this question one way or the other.
