Yep. It does feel nice to actually have a staff that looks worthy of trusting to make these evaluations though. If Levis turns out to be their guy I'll just hope that they're right and I'm wrong and root like hell for the guy.

I made a stupid mistake trying to sell this house

Appropriate post in a thread where the title starts off "I made a stupid mistake..." LOL! -
Price to move into top 3 based on past trades.
LinvilleGorge replied to panther4life's topic in Carolina Panthers
Here we are ready to take on the rest of the league following this trade. -
I think the Seahawks might be a sleeper destination for Rogers. Pete Carroll can't have many years left in the tank. Geno looked MVP caliber in the first half of the year but regressed a good way back toward looking like a journeyman as the season wore on. They still haven't resigned Geno or tagged him or anything, so what is their move at QB? At his age, I have a hard time seeing Carroll wanting to look to the draft for his next QB. They could still end up tagging Geno but I wouldn't be shocked if they came out of the blue and landed one of these vets like Rogers or Carr.

We have our coaches. What schemes will we run?
LinvilleGorge replied to Cam's New Arm's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we want to run a two high shell, we probably either need to move Chinn to LB or trade him. -
Reich called his own plays with the Colts.

Honestly, I'm very, very pleased with this coaching staff. Excited to see what they do at QB.

Interesting twist regarding Lamar Jackson...
LinvilleGorge replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
No he didn't. I went to all but two Broncos home games that year because the company I worked for had a suite and I was the only CO based employee so I got the tickets by default unless some big wig was in town on vacation and wanted them. The Golden Calf of Bristol looked like trash running the base offense. He'd work his magic in the two minute drill. You just can't get a coach to build an offense where every play basically amounts to "scramble drill on three, break". -
Interesting twist regarding Lamar Jackson...

Exactly. When an organization is willing to move on from a franchise caliber QB, red flags need to be flying. More often than not, in hindsight it was obvious why. -

This is basically Baltimore signaling that they think two 1sts is the absolute ceiling for what they could get for Lamar in a trade offer. -
Interesting twist regarding Lamar Jackson...

Honestly, no. It would still mean a mega contract and two 1st round picks for a player that has been struggling with injuries. -
Would you trade 9 for Fields - straight up?
LinvilleGorge replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
We're sitting at #9 in the draft. There's a really good chance the QB prospects we really want aren't gonna be there. Just reality. -
My first NFL jersey was a Browns Bernie Kosar jersey when I was probably a similar age. I just wanted an NFL jersey. The Panthers didn't even exist yet. Bernie Kosar's jersey was probably on the clearance rack at Belk's.

Would you trade 9 for Fields - straight up?
LinvilleGorge replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
If the Bears decide to take a QB at #1 and move on from Fields and we can get him for #9 overall and we like Fields more than the QBs we anticipate will be available at #9 then go for it. That's whole lot of "ifs" so it's highly unlikely to happen. -
Drake Maye petitions the NFL and somehow gains the ability to be allowed into the supplemental draft. Finally acknowledging fuging us over in SB50 the NFL grants us an extra 1st round pick in '24 that we use to select Drake Maye in the 2023 supplemental draft. I mean, you did say IDEAL. LOL!!!

Could Lamar be going to our division rival?
LinvilleGorge replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Winning record overall, but I'm pretty sure .500 after we acquired Jake. He owned us early on but let's be real, we sucked in those years. Everyone owned us. -

The Falcons had one year where they won double digit games with Vick. They made the playoffs in two of his six seasons. Y'all really having nightmares about THAT? -
Could Lamar be going to our division rival?
LinvilleGorge replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I honestly wouldn't mind one of our divisional rivals trading a boatload of assets and then giving a massive contract to a QB who has struggled with injuries recently. -
I honestly think that's most likely. The entire sports media thinks they should build around Fields. Most of their fanbase thinks they should build around Fields. If you move Fields and take another QB, you better be right because holy poo... if you draft a bust and Fields flourishes elsewhere you're gonna be the biggest jackass in sports.
