I'm starting to think Tepper didn't fire Rhule because he thought Rhule would run off back to college and now it's starting to sink in that none of the good college football programs want him so if Rhule is gonna have to start over at a mid-level school again anyway, he might as well just stick it out and keep cashing Tepper's checks until he gets fired.

I haven't read through this thread, but did McAdoo really turn around the Giants offense or did the Giants simply draft OBJ? In 2013, the Giants were 28th in the league with 308ypg and also 28th in the league in points with 18.4ppg. In 2014, McAdoo took over at OC and they drafted OBJ. In 2014, the Giants were 10th in the league with 367ypg and 13th in the league in points with 23.8ppg. Big improvements, right? That's +59 yards per game and +5.4 points per game. But wait... OBJ had 1305 yards and 12 TDs. That's basically 80 yards per game and 5 points per game himself. That accounts for more than the yardage improvements and virtually all of the scoring improvements.

Truth. Shaq is probably the only guy on the roster who I might honestly argue has improved under Rhule. Everyone else seems to be about the same or worse.

Why does David Tepper gravitate to NFL outsiders?
LinvilleGorge replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's hilarious how sure of yourself and your opinions you still are despite being wrong about virtually everything you've ever posted. How's your man crush of a hedge fund bro doing so far as an owner? Damn, that Appaloosa Model is just killin' it! -
At the NFL level it all happens so quickly. The read is presnap. Once the ball is snapped, you basically have a split second to recognize what the D is doing. Everything that happens after that is pure reaction. If you're still thinking it's going to happen too slow.

The problem is QB. The problem is also the OL. The problem is also coaching. They're all massive problems.

Why does David Tepper gravitate to NFL outsiders?
LinvilleGorge replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
We have a front office who was hired knowing that Rhule had the final say on everything football related. Now maybe they didn't realize how hard headed he'd be in terms of actually listening to and receiving sound advice. That's very possible. But good GM candidates don't take jobs as baby sitters for college coaches. Morgan likely deeply regrets leaving a solid organization in Buffalo. -

Fitterer's and Morgan's connection don't matter here. This is Rhule's organization. Ultimately he's going to hire guys he's comfortable with out of his very limited circle. -

It also suggests that Rhule hasn't broadened his NFL circle doubling back to re-interview previously rejected candidates for bigger roles than they were previously rejected from. -

Damn... two years ago Rhule deemed this guy unworthy of a position coach job and now he's hiring him as OC. That's about as concrete of proof that you've gone from choosing to begging in your hiring process. Has McAdoo even been considered for other OC jobs in the meantime? -
A few answers from The Athletic's mailbag
LinvilleGorge replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I just don't even get mad anymore. I've reached a state of perfect apathy. Thanks Tepper. -
Every time I think we've achieved a new low under Rhule, he proves me wrong and digs some more. Now for acquiring the next retread vet QB who will inevitably and very predictably flop terribly.

Andy Dalton. Andy. Dalton. Andy. Fuging. Dalton. That's where we are now?

Excuse me while I interrupt the never ending bitchfest on Tepper and Rhule's Panthers, but today was a good day. https://allthatsinteresting.com/it-was-a-good-day-actual-date

Our Roster -- Players We Feel Good About (Part 1 - Offense)**
LinvilleGorge replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
For a rookie playing behind a terrible OL with no passing game to speak of, I was happy with Chuba. No, he's not CMC by any means but he subbed in better than could be reasonably expected for a 5th round rookie. -
Given our atrocious QB, OL, and coaching situations it's really hard to give a fair assessment of him. We just aren't a team conducive to success on the field either individually or as a team, especially on offense. Just the sad truth.
