After today, everyone should understand you need a QB
LinvilleGorge replied to AU-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
The talk about Burrow lacking elite traits coming out of LSU baffled the hell out of me. Did they not watch him throw dimes 40+ yards down the field on the move? That's elite traits. Like, people really actually watched video game poo like this and were like *yawn* "lacks elite traits" -
I have no idea how anyone could've watched Wentz play his final year in Philly and thought he had much of anything left in the tank. Him and Ertz looked completely shot. I mean, I get it if you had the opportunity to bring him in on a short term FA contract to kick the tires, but to trade a 1st round pick for him? Yikes.

There's nothing wrong with that approach except everything. These guys are terrified to draft a rookie QB high. Why? I have no idea. But we aren't winning poo until we find a QB. I don't care if we recreate the 90s Cowboys OL. -
Wow. Damn.

He was the redzone play caller too. The old dinosaur OC confirmed it.

Oh, I know. The guy thinks he's slick but he's always been one of the most obvious Cam haters on this forum. -

Yep. -
This brain trust is either afraid to miss on a QB prospect or they're afraid of having to develop a QB prospect. Why they think they're going to turn chicken poo vets into chicken salad though I just can't figure out.

Yep. That team in your av has been all over a particular QB prospect in this draft. Instead of trying to outsmart everyone else maybe we should try paying attention to what smart organizations are doing. -

It really is though. That doesn't mean you bat 1.000 by any means. But identifying the right QB and drafting him really is the key to turning around a dumpster fire franchise. -
Unfortunately, Tepper must have the 'rona because he evidently can't smell a damn thing.

There's no Trevor Lawrence or Andrew Luck prospect in this draft but most franchise QBs weren't that type of prospect. That's why you pay scouts. Go find the franchise QB. -
We're the worst organization in the league right now. Tepper was right when he said you have to have a GM, a HC, and a QB. Unfortunately, he failed miserably in putting together his football organization and now here we are.

"He" couldn't or this organization couldn't? He won an MVP with Ted Ginn Jr. as his #1 WR. If you think Cam was our problem... -
It's been all sleet now for an hour or so. I do miss good clean Colorado snow. Southern "wintry mix" bullshit is just that... bullshit.

The Bills were a dumpster fire and landed a franchise QB. Voila. The Cardinals were a dumpster fire and landed a franchise QB. Voila. The Bengals were a dumpster fire and landed a franchise QB. Voila. Everyone wants to talk about OL, OL, OL but QB trumps everything else. If you don't have a franchise QB and you have the opportunity to land a franchise QB you can't pass. There will probably end up being a franchise QB in this draft. Identify him and draft him. Hint: he played HS football half an hour away from BOA. -
Yeah, we've kinda been speculating that for awhile. Basically all Burrow and company needed was a modern offensive system instead of that leather helmet bullshit LSU was running pre-Brady.

It blows my mind how bad Tepper got duped. He's supposed to be so smart and analytical. He said himself that QB is the only must have position on the roster. Yet he goes out and hires mid-level college coach with minimal NFL experience who had previously won with good defense and decent offense and gives him full control in an increasingly offensive driven league. Tepper may be brilliant in the world of finance, but damn he's a dumbass in the world of football. -

Yep. If you don't have a QB in this league you can't compete. -

It still baffles me how JR fired Gettleman shortly after letting Beane get plucked. Gentleman was clearly already on thin ice and Beane was the heir apparent waiting in the wings. -
We have close to 6" already. These weather folks are not good at their jobs.

I agree with @TheCasillas. Allen has a LOT more to do with their offensive success than Daboll.
-
Lemme know when Allen wins the MVP with Ted Ginn Jr. as his #1 WR.
