All credit to CPantherKing for bringing my attention to this kid. Robinson's story is straight out of a movie. Dead father, crook mother, lived with his grandmother til she passed (he found her in the kitchen), lived in his car at times in HS. He seems to have a great attitude. On the field he's a short, stocky powerful runner who was an absolute nightmare to tackle. How this kid hasn't been hyped up more is beyond me. He had a slow 40 (4.7), but that's not his game. He's got a good jump cut, good vision, good enough burst, great lower strength. He's a very good blocker, especially for his size (important, judging by our staff's comments). Good pass catcher. Just watch his breakdowns. You'll be amazed. http://draftbreakdown.com/players/josh-robinson-2

I'll second the 500 yds 4 TDs vote. -

I really really hope we're able to trade our 4th and 5th to move up into the 3rd for SOMETHING to get me happy about this draft, heh. -

People aren't complaining that Gettleman traded up for an offensive weapon. They're complaining he traded up for Funchess. Who I wouldn't have wanted at our original #57, much less at the cost of our 3rd and 6th too. -

I'm just at a loss. Devin Funchess with Strong still on the board...and a number of other better WRs. Shaq and now Funchess. Gettleman is testing my faith. -

Just our 3rd and 6th for a 2nd? Thats out freaking standing. That's how it's GD done, Gettles. Nail these two picks and I'm totally on board with Shaq. Edit: If we gave 2nd, 3rd, 6th for the 2nd then that makes sense. -

I hope they do get Gregory. Olsen or Swole Bones could block him with one hand behind their backs. Swole Bones could probably bench press him 30 times. Hell, Shaq Thompson benched his equivalent 20 times at the combine. -

Oy, Smith is who I wanted in the 2nd. edit: Donovan Smith that is. -

I'm glad we didn't take Dorsett, my only problem with the Colts taking him that early is it pushes the good WRs left up the board. -

I don't like the pick but I'll trust the Don knows something I don't. I didn't like the Luke pick either. My biggest concern is wtf can we get at OT? There's been a run. Think Fisher is lasting to 57? Collins? No. Maybe Clemmings but I'm not a big fan. Maybe Donovan Smith. Still solid options at WR possible, but if Perriman is good enough for Newsome he's good enough for me. If tomorrow's pick isn't a WR or OT I'm going to start getting annoyed. This also means we probably won't get my favorite defensive prospect for us Preston Smith. -

With two picks to go before us, I'd be happy with Perriman or Humphries of who's left. -
OBJ's route running and hands are what makes him special. Smith doesn't have either. edit: not saying I wouldn't be ok with him in the 2nd, just that he's not really close to OBJ.

After doing some of my own research, I wouldn't touch Peat with a 10 ft pole. Change that pick to Humphries and I'm good.

As far as I can tell, I dunno if I'd put him on the right side. He's a little on the smaller side and typically you want the RT to be your road grader. But beyond that, I have no idea how he'd do at RT.

I went back and watched breakdowns on Humphries. I'm sold. Was the second best looking OT that I looked at. This would be an amazing draft.

Love it. I'm on the fence about Humphries, I really don't know enough about him. But I absolutely love picks 2-4. I'm on the fence about Drummond. Like Buck Allen. The rest I'm unfamiliar with. Overall: A+

I like Ray Drew, DE, Georgia as a fallback option if we can't land Preston Smith. http://draftbreakdown.com/players/ray-drew/ edit: added link to watch breakdowns. Nothing from last year, but 3 games from 2013.

Perriman went from being talked about as a late first or early second at latest BEFORE the combine, which he didn't post any numbers in, to mid first or late first at latest after running at his pro-day. That's nowhere near the the shooting up the board that happened with DHB. And the truth of the matter is, the biggest surprise about DHB's rise was that he went before Crabtree who was the consensus #1 and Crabtree turned out to not be any good either. That was a bad year for WRs, the only early one of note was Maclin and I don't think he was ever a contender for the top WR spot. So it wasn't that big of a mistake taking him before Crabtree. That year was just a crapshoot for WRs. Nevertheless, I pretty much always disagree with the late surges, and I think Perriman is the same prospect as when I watched breakdowns before the combine. Late first. Should be going to a playoff team. edit: And Perriman doesn't just have straight line speed, if you read the analysis or watch the breakdown videos you'll see he's got good change of direction and smooth moves for a guy his size. He's not twitchy, but he's not lumbering after turning either. Some guys get up to speed in a straight line fast but don't have the agility to change direction and keep going fast. That's not Perriman. He slows down a little more than a guy like Smitty or Brandin Cooks or OBJ would, but for his size his agility is very acceptable.

Runners up in order: Gurley (if he checks out), Ogbuehi (if he checks out, Fisher if he doesn't and if Perriman actually had a shot of lasting til here he'd be the pick), and J. Hardy. Collins, Ogbuehi (same as above), and J. Hardy. Gurley, P. Smith, and J. Hardy.
