  1. This reminds me of the way Jimmy Clausen "fell." If you recall, The Chiefs and Vikings wanted a QB and both passed on Clausen in round 1. Then they passed on him in Round 2. Meanwhile, Hurney was trying to trade up in the time between the first and second rounds, hoping to move up (with the Rams, I think) to get Clausen, but the Rams would not deal. This was the draft that was pure Hurney because Fox was going into his lame duck year and everyone knew it. He was not involved in the Draft. So Marty is giddy when Clausen falls into the 40s and he grabs him. He then bites on a bluff by the Colts who leaked that they were going to take Armanti Edwards in the third round--so he MOVED UP to get him.
  2. This is setting up nicely for a trade back. If you expand this list, I see 12-13 players I would gladly take in the second round. That probably means 3-4 would be there if we moved back to 50 or so. I would caution Scott Fitterer that after the second round, you are probably going for people who will struggle to make the roster--so the pool gets very shallow very quickly.
  3. Brian Branch S/cb. This player could help us tremendously. If Porter is gone, he could be there for a secondary that is often banged up or burned. Luke Musgrave TE. Steve Avila G TCU. Darnell Washington TE Georgia. O'cyrus Torence G Florida. Move BC to Swing T and start this guy at LG. Josh Downs WR UNC BJ Ojulari DE LSU. My preference. We need an edge opposite Burns. Clark Phillips cb utah Drew Sanders LB Arkansas My emotional favorite. Can play all 3-4 LB positions with high levels of success. Maxi Smith DT Michigan Sam LaPorta TE Iowa. Keion White DE Georgia Tech
  4. It sure looks as though Ojulari will be there....Just sayin'
  5. I really do not see anyone we would trade up for, but there is a lot of talent through about pick 55. I think Scott F will trade back. Unless Mayer, Porter, Ojulari or maybe Branch (CB/S) is there.
  6. I could take on a few--and Cecil has a camper--and there are sheltered picnic areas at Freedom Park with perma grills....
  7. I thought you were just joking and I was playing along. Now I see your point.
  8. This is getting ridiculous. Second contract starters are getting 25% of the team's cap. They are actually hurting their teams to get rich--
  9. Not exactly your point because your point was incorrect. Lovin me some draft day
  10. Since the jury is still out on Fields, soak this in--the OHIO STATE NFL QBs: 220 Interceptions vs. 184 TDs. 79-89-1
  11. Good point--I would think that we could find as many undrafted free agents as we could players on that list. Here are a few more that come to mind: Fred Lane Nick Goins Brad Hoover Myles Hartfield Sam Franklin
  12. This is not correct on both counts. No problem though, I see your overall point. He did have 2 good years.
  13. Was that the same draft he had his wife pick a player, so she went with Chuba Hubbard because he ran all over them when he was at Baylor? But yes, Rhule drafted a LONG SNAPPER and laughed about it when interviewed because he thought he was cute and clever.
  14. I flat out missed Minter. But the point of this is to demonstrate how unlikely it is that we fill all our remaining needs.
  15. they are in chronological order. Please read the post again.
  16. No you are right--I noticed that too. And we are talking about 27 years of drafting. On that site, I eyeballed the amount of time most picks stayed here--3 years was about average.
  17. Stroud should be fine--but there is risk with all QBs--if I had been scrutinized as much as these 22-year old kids have been I would be falling down and off teams' boards like a bullet train bound for hell.
  18. There you go! Nice thought. Made tonight more interesting! I think Levis is going to Indy at #4 and AR will go to a team like Tennessee, Houston (if they draft an Edge at #2 and move up with the #12 for a QB--something I personally expect them to do), or even Minnesota in a trade up with the Seagulls or Motor City Kitties.
  19. Really--I was like, "Where have I heard that name before?"
  20. I get the feeling that this pick will influence the next pick--makes it more likely that we go OL than if drafted a bigger QB--or we are going Edge because my feeling is totally wrong.
  21. Another thread altogether, but the thought did enter my mind. It would be harder to keep that list under 50.
