  1. I want Minshew--and his salary would be nothing.
  2. The point was--new coaches and situations can benefit players--so how does a game in 2022 get used as your measuring stick?
  3. I'd go to #3 for Young or Stroud if he is there and you love him. I'd go to #6 for Levis if you love him. I THINK AR falls to #9 if you love him.
  4. It is not ideal, but we are building our staff to develop our QBs--so that is the best and most realistic option. I would be OK with it. I think Darnold (he is 24) still has a chance to get better with a strong coaching staff and support system (defense, OL, RBs, WRs)
  5. OK, Aggie--if you are familiar with my body of work on here, you will have noted that I confess that I am the absolute worse judge of talent at the QB position. I think you are right--if the QB you like is there, and you have done your homework, you do what you have to do to move up and get him. Period. Full Stop. I think we are in a good situation because we really do not need much else to be competitive. A few free agents, a day two or three smart pick or two--and boom. We would be set.
  6. Lotta people are down on Darnold right now, and with good reason. However, Hurts, Goff, Lawrence, D. Jones, Tua---there are a lot of examples of QBs that people have almost given up on--called a bust--and then the situation changes, and they are suddenly better. From the Jets to to the Panthers with Rhule--not many QBs would have survived that.
  7. What does this suggest, if anything, about the kind of QB we are going to go after? Seems the HC and QB coach are more pro style QBs-- This is going to make me sound crazy when I realize that most of you consider me to be very, very, sane at all times---I almost--with this staff---think it may not be a bad thing to take Hall or Tune later in this draft. They both have good numbers, decent measurables, and experience in college. They both seemed to have flown beneath the radar.
  8. I met Dom Capers in 1996 or so at one of the OTAs in Rock Hill at the time. He was tremendous. Comes from Ohio a town near where my wife grew up, so he was interested in talking about that for some reason. Ever since then, I have been a fan of his.
  9. It makes a huge difference. I had a coach in college who played TE in the NFL. I was much better after 1 year with him. I went from poor to average--in 1-yr.
  10. To those of you who are stating, "Darnold sucks" congrats. Your grasp of football talent is astoundingly insightful. However, you have to look at him this way--several qbs in this draft are a year or two younger than Darnold--and we call them "projects" What if Sam's late season success was a sign the light is coming on? What if he turns the corner like Daniel Jones or Jared Goff did this season? They are older than Darnold. What if a new OC and former QB as coach benefits Darnold and their impact is immediate? I think this is as likley as he will continue "sucking". Sign Darnold to a 1-2 year deal on the cheap and draft a QB. This is probably what they will do, so get used to the idea.
  11. I never post here, but I watch the Hornet games casually. He is a good player. He passes, rebounds, and shoots pretty well. He is still very young. Although I do not like his decisions at times, I think the supporting cast and coaches need upgrading. Lotta unnecessary flash at times, and I do not know how good a teammate he is, but I see the biggest problem on this team is Gordon. He's just a player/retiree, in my opinion. Again, not a die hard fan--but this is what it looks like from my perch
  12. I would spend a third on Hooker--for 2024. But that can't be your plan A.
  13. I have a hunch that Carr will get cut and sign with Washington.
  14. Slander is spoken. This is written. It would be libel, not slander--but its not. For it to be slander or libel there has to be damages. Fans on a discussion board are not causing Cam personal injury in any way. Anyhooo....there's that.
  15. The dropper will be AR, in my opinion. We are getting Levis or no QB, if you ask me. Young/Stroud are probably going in top 3 to 4 picks, and I do not see Carolina moving up that far--if Stroud or young falls to #6, they will move up. Just guessing.
  16. What amazes me about him is his confidence. Borderline cocky. I would be wearing a ski cap or headphones all the time--and praying for calm winds.
  17. I lived in the Baltimore area and the Charlotte area---my entire life. I have not been to Baltimore in several years, but I liked it. The Inner Harbor was being fixed up and was pretty nice--some of the streets around the nice areas are a bit dangerous--but that is true about Charlotte. I can say that the women in Baltimore (before I was married) were more aggressive and eager than in Charlotte...what was my point again?
  18. to me, he is like Jake Delhomme--I think he can win in the league, and he would make a perfect bridge qb.
  19. I think I posted somethng about Tune recently--like about 2 months ago--you are right
  20. Now you see why I was in tank mode, dipshits? Those Lions and Saints victories are not longer making me feel like a winner, as if the sweet nectar of the Lombardi is dripping into my vision of the future. Not sure that ended the way I designed it, but it is a bit poetic, so I am staying with it.
  21. No QB looks good without the OL doing its job--they were horrible.
  22. The ACL can tear with both contact and noncontact maneuvers. Approximately 70 percent of injuries are noncontact and occur when the athlete is trying to change directions, slow down or land from a jump. You made me Google--does that change your mind? I saw Thomas Davis (at OTAs) injure his ACL (the second one) I happened to be looking right at him--and he was doing agility/warmup drills. Full Disclosure: I am not a medical doctor.
