  1. Weather in a night game in Buffalo in mid December is probably something Smitty should have been aware of, but "bless his heart." And I am pretty sure that she was not talking to Smitty, but his response was funny. Kind of a "Cousin Eddie" move.
  2. When they say, "half time adjustments" the Colts need to know that it does not mean neutering.
  3. 31 years old, I think. There were some comments before the game about how they restricted the play book for Ryan--how'd that work out?
  4. Ryan was throwing the same routes all game--they started jumping them, and he had no answers.
  5. Saturday should just stay in Minnesota. I am not sure he'd be safe back in Indy. He could work on his resume.
  6. Hey guys, maybe there are some good college coaches available.
  7. When I see a potential problem, I don't whine, I look for solutions. 8. TEs are cheaper free agents, so if you are developing a young QB, a vet TE makes sense.
  9. The two teams playing last night are great examples of what a mediocre QB can do on a team with a strong running game, good OL, and good defense. Wilson had these things in Seattle--moves to Denver, "Let's ride!" referring to the rail out of town. Geno Smith comes in and succeeds. Comeback player of the year. In SF, Garrapolo is a good QB. Good OL, defense, Running game. He gets hurt, Purty is a good to decent QB.
  10. The OL has a lot to do with his success. I mean, Hubbard and Blackshear are doing well when they play. Nope on a big contract, yes to a small contract. I would spend my money on Bozeman.
  11. You are not wrong. I am basing my opinion on the fact that we will have an early second rounder and the draft is pretty deep at TE. We agree that TE is a huge need, but if we pick 40th for example, we could get an effective TE. In the past few years, Pat Freiermuth went 55th overall (2nd round), Greg Dulitch (Broncos Rookie) went 80th overall--both are good offensive threats. If we could only save our first rounder for a QB of the future---it would be a win win.
  12. I think we can get a good TE in this year's second round--so you could still grab a QB, free agent, Corral, and have a team ready to compete.
  13. Oh, I agree. If the stars align, you definitely do that--and sign Minshew (or another low salary). If you sign a free agent for $15m and a rookie for $6m, you still have four years before you have to make that commitment.
  14. Give me Kincade with one of our second rounders.
  15. The price of mediocrity, I suppose. Now that QBs cost 25% of the cap, it is tough to decide when to take that leap, but I agree.
  16. This guy is, in my view, what the Panthers need at TE, and I am guessing he'd be available in Round 2. He has excellent hands, grabs balls in traffic, very productive. This would, in my opinion, make the CMC trade one of the best moves we could have made because it added a second rounder. This TE would make the Panther O better.
  17. It is hard to gauge what Corral can become. First of all, he played garbage minutes. Secondly, Rhule's system has not been kind to QBs--I think he could be decent in a year or two, but I think we should look to grab a veteran if Levis does not slip to us in the draft. It is my opinion that the offense could use a productive TE--but that does not necessarily mean first round.
  18. Now that we are out of the running for a top QB in this draft--and I doubt we have the capital to move up--I say take a close look at Gardner Minshew. Draft a stud Offensive weapon TE instead. The Minshew deal would remind me of the Jake Delhomme acquisition. We would have a 26-27 year old QB who is a fiery leader. A solid OL, and a new tool for the offense--today's NFL offenses need a productive receiving TE. If we continue to run the ball, you do not need a $50m QB. With the way the Defense is playing, and if we can improve the Offense at 2 spots (TE, QB), I think the Panthers would be in "win now" mode. I am just speculating for fun, and I realize there are hundreds of scenarios, but I have always liked Minshew and I think, in the right system, he could be very good.
  19. You are kidding about the laser measuring devices, correct? And yes, it is part of the show. The chain measurement creates drama.
  20. Good point. And why do we still have chains to measure for first downs? That takes a lot of time.
  21. About Wilkes: I like the guy. He seems to have the demeanor and I am guessing, his year in Arizona taught him a lot. Although he is a defensive coach, the offense has been better and the defense has been pretty dominant. If we win 7 or 8 games, he will be getting the full time gig.
  22. Think about it--we are one DJ Moore helmet removal and a late Saints collapse from having 6 wins and being alone at the top of the S
  23. I think we could have a decent WR group if we added an offensive threat TE. Smith, Moore, Marshall, Shenault--and I think we could use a solid possession WR. Darnold is hard to watch, so it is hard to say for sure.
