  1. *WOULD say. Rhule ruined him, which is really his fault for the hire but yeah.
  2. I wouldn’t say Rhule is the reason he gets involved, he wasn’t as involved for about 1 1/2 years. Let him draft all defense, let them trade for Darnold THEN he started poking his nose around. I truly feel like if we have a GM/HC combo that knows what they are doing he’s gonna back off. Winning cures all.
  3. What's funny is, that list we 'have to be comfortable with' would still be a great hire... sans Bill O'B and maybe Frank Smith.. don't know a ton about him tbh. If Johnson is the dream, I'd have to wager that Slowik is right up there. Did great with a rookie, granted better situation week to week. Either way has him in MVP conversations and maybe 2nd in the league in passing... Lowkey I like Slowik, pairing him with a FO member from SF as GM. Evero is my close second though. If we can't get a young OC hire Evero. Neither Harbaugh nor Bill B are even confirmed to be in this pool of candidates to this point. Mentioning them is a futile at this point.. I can circle back to them if and when they are confirmed to have NFL interest or interest to continue coaching.
  4. I agree, it's fools gold. It's a better landing spot for someone with experience (at both positions) because they can rebound faster than having the growing pains and dealing with those type of things out of the gate. Chicago IF it comes open would be the better landing spot, great cap space, great GM, great picks. Yet, I feel like Chicago would try to lure Harbaugh.. this coaching cycle is gonna be interesting to say the least.
  5. Tepper doesn't have the balls to pull a move like this. It would never happen lol
  6. That entire Speculated list is questionable. Bills/Jets/Titans don't seem likely at all, would more so be a surprise. Bucs are more likely than anyone else on the list, but I bet they wait to see how other moves shake out before they make a move.
  7. The money isn't an issue, has no impact on the team. The other points are super valid. Everyone expects the next coach to be a Bryce fanatic and they honestly shouldn't be. Be a Panther's fanatic. This team will still exist if Bryce turns out to not be NFL material. Build up the roster and give him the tools to sink or swim on his own with no excuses. If he swims, fantastic. If he sinks, after this year, you have the capital to acquire your guy. I'm not sold on the notion that BY is gonna run coaches off. Take this season to get your offensive identity in order, start getting your pieces and go from there. You already know if you're an offensive coach that the priority and focus is going to be on the offense. Use it to your advantage.
  8. I wouldn't be mad with AI Hurney. Might be able to get atleast 4 good picks.
  9. Marty won't be alive then. Tepper won't sell anytime soon.
  10. The only way I'd consider Bill on the staff is as some kind of Advisor for whatever young coach we're going to hire. Bill's timeline in relation to where this team is isn't a good fit. Maybe when Rhule was hired.. this team is too far away. IF Bill wants to continue to coach (and it sounds cliche) the only place I can realistically see him going is LA/LV better weather, more complete teams. LAC wins in terms of team composition and readiness to compete. I just can't wait until Bill steps into another position with the Patriots and puts this Bill B rumor mill to rest. They already said they aren't going to be hasty in a decision with him which is going to screw him if he decides he wants to continue coaching he's gonna be playing from behind or miss out on a job he wants. Just end your career in NE Bill..
  11. I'm not all doom and gloom about the upcoming hiring cycle. It's early yet, though. My interest in this offseason will increase dramatically once I know it's a complete reset, which I think is very likely to happen. Plus have to see what other jobs come open and what candidates will emerge from those potential firings and so forth. As for who I think this team should get? A real leader. I don't care whether the coach is pro or anti Bryce Young, none of that matters too me. Get the best *possible* coach no matter if they are Offensive or Defensive, the rest will shake out.
