There are undoubtedly those here who will defend Kochetkov to the ends of the earth, but he wasn't all that tonight. He made saves, but when he had vision. Every goal scored in the NHL is the result of a missed assignment, or someone out of position, so blaming someone for being out of position is kind of obvious. Hell, if it never happened, you win with shutouts every night. The Canes were horrible tonight. Across the board. Even Slavin got turned around on the 4th goal. The team was not good at all.

I didn't expect the Canes to win any of the last week's games with Martin in net. But, the Canes played 15 games in the 30 days of November, including 3 back-to-backs in the last 2 weeks. Couple the schedule with the fact the team is not playing Canes hockey with a turnstile in net behind them. I'm sorry, I don't care what lineup is on the ice, every player on this roster knows they have to work overtime to help the goalie. If you don't think it's in the back of each player's mind, you're wrong.

Imagine being a Panther fan while talking sh!t about a team who has lost fewer games this season than the Panthers have won in the past 2 seasons.

Canes may get shut out by a scrub goalie.

Florida is not allowing any gaps, they are playing so tight it is negating the Canes speed. Canes are not used to having an opposing player on top of them all the time.

Carrier starting on the top line with Aho & Jarvis. RBA needs protection for them going against the Barkov line. Any physicality the Canes had was lost in the off-season (Pesce, Noesen). Orlov, Burns and a couple others need to step it up.

If you got Florida at -115, you're lucky. The line I'm seeing right now is Carolina -120.

Not that it matters, but Florida had 7 guys on the ice when they scored their 4th goal.

Martin is terrible to the point he's dragging the rest of the team down with him. Guys are not playing the game they're accustomed to knowing he's back there, ready to give up a goal at any minute.

A team can only psych themselves into working hard to cover for a lack of talent for so long. As many goals as he allows, the number of clutch saves is nowhere close to proportionate.

Wonder if they were able to trade for a goalie between periods.
