Hoping precaution is the reason for holding Pacquette out. He's a streaky guy and plays better if he's consistently in the lineup. -

You forgot to mention the Marley Girl will be cranking on the siren tonite. Hope they let her rehearse/practice, that pair could get in the way and you know what they say... "It's all fun & games until someone loses an eye." -

Going out on a limb- Staal, Foegele and/or Fast scores tonite. All 3 have been so very close the last 2 games. -
Fug the NHL "Department of Player Safety." Fug Parros- he should have been terminated the minute he decided to do nothing but toss a $5000 charity fine at Wilson. Tom Wilson sucker-punched a player in the back of the head who was down on the ice. Tom Wilson then threw another player to the ice not once, but twice, when that player had no helmet on. Tom Wilson injured this player maliciously and with intent. The NHL "Department of Player Safety" is obviously more concerned with Tom Wilson's safety than the safety of either Pavel Buchnevich or Artemi Panarin. Tom Wilson does not deserve the privilege of playing in the NHL any longer.

He was too busy laying the lumber (6 hits). At this point, anything he does beyond protecting his team is gravy. I'm sure I'm not the only who's noticed more physicality up and down the roster since he joined the team. Until Hak joined the team, the Canes were unable to incorporate a complimentary physical aspect to their play. Now, it seems they have achieved a balance of still playing their brand of hockey, but with the added sauce of physicality. Just look at Svech since Hak joined the team. Andrei is more physical the last month than he's been all season. Even the young guys aren't backing down to some of the old guard around the league. Earlier this month Lorentz was ready to go with Comeau (Dallas) after a pretty questionable hit (he was hit with a minor). -

I believe he will end up in Buffalo, unless he's being courted for a network job somewhere.... -

This is starting ugly. -
Didn't even mention what he did to Panarin. Fug him and shame on the league. That's some spineless sh!t right there.
-
Following last night's blatant sucker punch and grabbing Artemi Panarin by the hair and nearly slamming his head into the ice, my opinion of Tom Wilson being a hockey thug is now no longer applicable. He's a piece of sh!t human being, a hockey player intent on injuring those he feels are vulnerable enough and obviously, after 7 suspensions, has no remorse and hasn't learned a fugging thing. A suspension today means nothing. They've had no impact on his behavior. It's time for the league to step up and send a message and put this guy out of the league.

Time out, goalie change and a no-goal. Pretty good sign it's not going to end well. -

Ned could get his 4th shutout tonite. Chicago looks terrible. 4 or 5 shots on goal? Canes could easily put a 5-spot on the scoreboard. -

Meanwhile, the Canes are 3-2 against a team that has taken a couple of huge hits this season with Jonathon Toews being out the entire season, Brent Seabrook retiring and the recent surprise retirement announcement from Andrew Shaw after one too many concussions at the age of 29. Add to the fact this team let go of some serious talent following their Stanley Cup run from the 2009/2010 season thru 2014/2015 (3 cups in 5 seasons) opting to keep some guys beyond their years. I'll admit I was a long-time Hawks fan before I was a Canes fan and I still get a twinge when the 2 teams play. But, c'mon, another one of those teams the Canes should be dominating, but who have proven to create matchup issues. But hey, not may teams can keep track of Patrick Kane every shift. -
Chancellor Brind'Amour contract update...
Anybodyhome replied to Stumpy's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Pretty BS article. Doesn't come close to this: Brind'Amour's current contract is set to expire this summer, but Dundon says he's not worried about negotiating a new deal. "I've never been concerned," Dundon said Tuesday on The Bob McCown Podcast. "I've never really had a problem keeping good people, if I want to keep them, we keep them, we'll find a way and he's the best. "I have no interest in owning the team without him coaching it, so he's going to coach it." The Hurricanes hired Brind'Amour as head coach in May 2018 and have ascended to become one of the league's top teams since. Carolina owns a 115-64-19 record with Brind'Amour behind the bench and has made the playoffs in three straight seasons, including a trip to the Eastern Conference Final in his first campaign. Dundon credits Brind'Amour, who previously served as an assistant coach, for changing the culture of the club when he was promoted. "That's probably the main thing. There were a couple of really good players, but there was a person here who was really good at getting the most out of everyone and creating a culture. "And he loves the Hurricanes, right? That wasn't something a lot of people can say. Even when we were no good, he still loved it, and he thought about it the way it was when he played and they were good." -
Great. The draft weekend is a single day past and Huddlers are still waiting for the starting LT who should have been on the roster by now. There were 2 OTs available when Carolina opted for a CB in round 1. There were 5 OTs available when Carolina opted for a WR in round 2. So, yeah, there were a few opportunities to get a high-quality starter before round 3.
-
So, how's that gonna work? Your guy kicks off, goes thru the uprights for 1 point. Being as they just scored, they have to kick off again, so they just keep going until he misses? "Joey Slye, lining up for his 5th kickoff with the Panthers now trailing by 3 instead of 7...."

And it showed just how flawed his approach is: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/grading-nfl-mock-drafts-2021-mel-kiper-todd-mcshay-peter-king/fw2xshq63xru1krh7smxmw85l Vinnie Lyler (Sporting News): 7/32 Mel Kiper (ESPN): 5/32 Todd McShay (ESPN): 9/32 Daniel Jeremiah (NFL Network): 4/32 Peter King (NBC Sports): 9/32

To be fair, Mel Kiper has made a living off the NFL draft, and he doesn't even pay attention to what team needs are. He simply puts out a mock based on where he ranks players. And when he's wrong (a lot), he acts all pissy, makes excuses and tries to tell us the team screwed up.
