Maybe we could trade out of that #11.

Oh yeah. 7' 285lbs. 6'11" 265lbs. Big bouys

Yup. Kai Jones is supposed to go late first, I think. I'm so into stats and what you've done and can do over potential alone. I'm on the Cockburn, Garza bandwagon because they've put up serious points and rebounds and have been the focus of the offense at times, they've both done that in their own separate ways. As we get closer to the draft unfortunately both will rise. If the NBA was completely stupid we could get both and solve our problems in the post for years. I'd be quite intrigued to get either though. Kofi is going to rise, 2nd round potential, Garza will too.

Garza, I think, has more of that killer instinct than Kaminski. Plus Garza is already heavier than Frank. Garza is a big heavy dude 265lbs. He'd automatically push Frank around. When I look at the center position, you've got to be a heavyweight.
-
Garza is that modern Center for today's game. With his size, weight, athleticism, range. He's got a modern PF game with C body. He's a good defender, good shot blocker, he can score from beyond the three all the way up to putbacks. We really could use both Garza and Cockburn to go big. There's so much to like about both guys games, Garza fitting the run and gun and 3pt shooting and Cockburn as the half court, when you've got to slow the game down and pass to the post type player. Right now we don't have either type of player at the 5.

You no like Luka?! Luka would take Basseys lunch every day. Luka ain't no PF. 6'11 265lbs

You can't teach big. We don't have a half court type center. Cockburn is very intriguing especially having a guy like Melo. We had 0 for anybody when the game slowed down and we were forced to play half court playoff basketball. Nobody who could punch it in for us in the post. Our style of play would fit a guy like Garza who I really, really, really like but Cockburn seems like he'd be more fun to watch with those Shaq like two hand slams and those nice baby hooks. LaMelo having a guy like that to pass to when teams slow us down would be a great tool in the box come playoff time.

@WOW!! Luka Garza is everything you're looking for. Check him out. 6'11" 265lbs (NBA day one body). Complete player. Inside/outside. Big enough to bang inside in the NBA day one and a beautiful three point shot.

All true, but he IS a scoring big. He IS Shaq. I remember the same things being said about Shaq. Kofi has rare athleticism for that size. He's got a great feel around the rim. His outside game isn't strong (Shaq) but that inside game at 7'0 285lbs is NBA ready. The game wanted guys like Kofi but they became few and far between so theses 7'0 220lb guys started to get the run. Kofi (if you already got your 1-4 is exactly what you need at C, a huge immovable defender, a post scoring savant, if you get him the ball in the paint EVEN in the NBA it's over. He is physically a man among boys, just like Zion, big and heavy is big and heavy that won't change. He doesn't play like a man of almost 300lbs. He's running the floor with everyone else, he's defending. He is the old school center prototype. He IS soooooo much like Shaq to me, even FT %. People said the same things about Shaq, but who would be able to guide Kofi (Shaq) and Lamelo(Kobe) better than Mitch?
-
You're over the target. Does he fit in today's NBA? He's an old school lob it up, rebound stick back, Shaq 2.0. His game is in the paint and only in the paint, but he is dominant there in the paint nobody can guard that stick back. Nobody is going to push him out even as a rookie. I don't know if Shaq fits in today's NBA but I'd sure like to be the team that has Shaq.

Kofi Cockburn's game and size 7'0 285lbs makes him a day one starter over ALL our rookies and vets, to me. A total freak of nature in the mold of Shaq. Nobody is touching him in the paint, if they do they will be moved. He's scoring, dunking, dominant post presence.

Will Special teams be "Special" This Year?
rippadonn replied to Michael G's topic in Carolina Panthers
Whenever the Panthers special teams has been great we've had above average years. Remember how you would hold your breath and your heart would skip a beat when Micheal Bates would return a kick? He was pure speed. Rocket Ismail did work but then it was Smitty. Had to make him a WR to keep that raw explosion on the field. Who has been that guy since? Maybe He Hate Me, when was the last time we had a Bates, Rocket or Smitty returning? The the NFL has taken out half the return game anyways so those days are halfway over, exciting times they were. A guy could be a special teams star and had more opportunity to show that he should start. -

Yeah, "send out buttkicker" sounds better than "send out Slye". Butker has been winning games, doing his thing. Mistake. -

Bassey is a scorer, shot blocker, rebounder. Everything Mitch asked for. Kofi Cockburn is another big guy like Patrick Ewing from Jamaica also. 17.7 pts, nice! Good rebounder too. There you go.
-
I like to look at production not hype first of all. Mitch said "several" centers. "Several" It's highly unlikely we get Mobley so let's get past that and finds us some big game! I've got two. Big indeed. Plus they put in work.
-
He's not too old to relate with the youngsters, old enough with a good enough resume for veterans to respect. He's done a good job so far for a first time head coach and has a grizzled veteran in Mitch to help him along. I think we're in a good place.

If Malik decides to move on there may be a guy in New Orleans who might want to play here for one reason or another. I wouldn't mind that. We would probably be the only NBA team with two sets of brothers. Mitch is talking multiple centers though. Music to my ears Mitch. Music to my ears...
