I feel very strongly about this... Derek Carr.

We could build the defense and roll with the Golden One. If he can't hold up a full season we'd all have to question but at least we'd have Myles Murphy and perhaps build and prepare a move for homeboy Drake Maye if we're still desperate but that top five D coach wants would be realized. -

If they're going free agents Daniel Jones is 25 and a real dual threat, less INTS (tied for 3rd least). Give HIM Frank Reich and whoaboy! Bigger heavier more physical than a Carr could ever be. HE probably would give the Panthers a hometown discount. -

I used to love how when Cam would run he would wait for and direct blockers. That art is lost among so called running or scrambling QBs. Corral already does that. I don't think people here have properly scouted this player themselves. -

Corral wasn't just thinking about HIS $$$$. His guys weren't top of the SEC in anything but together with Corral(a blue chip recruit) they showed they could be NFL talent. Corral was concerned with their futures THEIR $$$$ too. That's leadership folks. We laughed at him being the first one to camp in the morning. -

Totally agreed until Corral. Corral for now as an NFL product is only something the staff at BofA and trainers can attest to and even they have yet to see him with any starting or 2nd string NFL line, wr, etc.. We have a absolutely NO idea who Matt Corral is today after strengthening studying and training at an NFL facility for almost a full season. I can only predict a trajectory from prior performance and gutt meter. He was in line for the Heisman, check, elite performer. Leader? Going back and watching how his team played for each other with him at the center, a rag tag bunch who weren't supposed to be winning(sound familiar?)and Corral was their rally point. Check. McAdoo said Corral was very skilled and had a big bag of tricks. HE knows more about that kid than almost anybody at this point. He described that as one of the differences between Corral and others. What do I see in Matt Corral that I'd go all out defending his being the potential starter? More than all the skills and tricks (fade drills in camp only QB w/2 swishes) and athletic prowess as a open field runner getting yards on with his feet trucking CBs back in the day, following blocks like a RB, being and doing tougher things than 212lbs(2021) would allow, it's his HEART! I've seen it in Jake, Smitty, Moose their size didn't matter because the fight in that dog is what ends up being lethal. Jake wasn't the best QB but he was the toughest. No fear. Brave whether it was logical or not. Same with Corral. He was already on the mend from a injury and went out and played in a Bowl game many projected first rounders would pass up because the big check was ooooh sooooo close $$$, the bag! Matt Corral couldn't/wouldn't quit on his guys after what they had been through together because his guys weren't the top recruits in the SEC, not the strongest or fastest but together they shocked the SEC because they weren't supposed to be there beating and competing against the big boys(sound familiar). I'll preface this by saying Smitty and Pep are both Panther legends whom I love and respect EQUALLY, but there's always been the debate around here that if you could put Steve Smith into Peps body that would be the greatest player ever. I have the same respect for DJ but if we could put Smitty in his body we'd have...#89 reincarnate. Like Smitty, like Jake, like Moose, Matt Corral has IT. No question! -

True and equal dual threat like Cam. Talented runner, more talented thrower but can get tough yards or break out in the open field. Yes. He grew up watching Cam, grew to be a big guy and run threat himself. I like the story AND comparison. -

Daniel Jones is testing free agency too. Charlotte native, played his ass off this last season, better QBR. Taller, heavier, better runner than Carr. Daniel is a Cam like dual threat. -

The QB School : Breaking down AR and Levis

You are a scholar in these parts. Now please school the unwashed masses. -
Exactly why people are scared of QBs from stacked frontrunner program squads. They have to adjust their game to not having the best linemen, receivers etc. Fields had to try to make that adjustment in the NFL while guys not on superstar squads like Levis and Corral had to lead their receivers, be super accurate and as careful as possible because the margin of error for THEIR team against the SECs best was razor thin, so more impressive, more ready for a team who's margin of error due to NFL level competition is already razor thin too. Adversity. Hopefully your QB has already had some and developed his callus.
-
Whoa whoa whoa. Fields is trending downward and has failed to cash in on his upside. Why are you salivating over another potential Sam, Baker, failed QB? I'd rather bank on Levis or Richardson reaching their potential rather than someone who has had their chance and failed to take advantage.

Reich’s description of a QB: It’s basically Corral

Brilliant! I totally agree except for Young and maybe Stroud. After the combine I see Stroud moving to #1QB. I'm going to predict a shocker that Young will be leap frogged by two more physical specimen in Will Levis and Anthony Richardson. Young is the decoy in my opinion. I see him dropping behind all the taller, also skilled guys. Stroud is the real target for everyone.

Either player would be very fortunate to get to play for a former QB in Reich. -

This isn't a front Obviously I love being THAT guy.

The Panthers are a mid level prospect. I'm in the right frame of mind.

How long have you been here? Me? Since panthershuddle.com. Its highly unlikely. I'm a Panthers fan, Cub fan, Bears fan and a fan of the downtrodden, the underdog... The ones they (you) doubt like the Golden One.

I love jokes. Not funny when there's no element of Truth. What's funny will be when Corral finally plays and shows a the self hating mouth breathers around here, what's really up. The fact Fields is even being discussed should tell you something but you hate Corral and think the Bears QBs are legit...
-
That's what I'm trying to tell you. Any assessment of Corral vs Fields until there is a sample size is futile, conjecture, foolish talk. I will stand by saying Corral has a larger skill set, is also a good open field threat(too brave, trying to truck LBs, he did OK) and a much more accurate QB, just as good throwing on the run on broken plays. Better touch on the ball. Dare I say more zip from what I saw from MC in camp at least equal. Nobody knows about Corral in real game NFL minutes. He's a well insulated, coddled and bubble wrapped ?mark.

The best QB in hearts of Bears fans is Jim McMahon, that was 1985. The real best Bears QB in history was Jay Cutler. What about THAT says QB factory. I was born into Beardom but the luck with QBs hasn't been there. Fields isn't an outlier, he's falling more in line with the trend. Pass. I'd trade for something else besides him in return for the pick. Let them figure that one out.
