This is a much better team, with weapons, a better city(his family still resides), dare I say better ownership.
-
You have no guarantee your upstart can attain 9-8, 11-5, 10-6. That's good enough to win the NFCS. Like I've said this is a team on the edge of mediocre again after Wilks, no need to base our future on hoping and wishing a coach can BECOME a head coach.
-
Better than the 6-10 we've become used to. This team almost made the playoffs and won the division with Matt Rhules roster and Wilksy. Put Harbaugh or Reich at HC with a draft and off-season we're automatically in the running. With Harbaugh the NFCS and NFC would sh*t their pants. They don't want any of that.
-
10-6? 11-5? 9-8? I would be grateful.
-
.547 win percentage with a meddling bat sh*t crazy owner. The proof is there for all to see. If Matt Rhule coached like Reich he'd still be here and we'd probably be in the playoffs.
-
Money talks Jimmy.
-
I like Reich for this job. He's got the resume and proven success AND a former Panther QB. I'm all in on that guy too.
-
Again, stupidity should not be rationalized then accepted. They can call him. Sean Payton will probably get the results Tepper wants but we have to expose our backside to the Saints organization. The cost will be very very high, bad move. Trying to make another head coach out of a guy who hasn't been a head coach after FAILING horribly with Rhule. Bad move. This organization is too green to develop a head coach themselves, maybe the Richardson regime could do that but they had the operational experience to do so. Where we're at now is we need an experienced coach a couple seasons to pull the franchise back together. Next hiring cycle after righting the ship, maybe we've developed an in house replacement for that guy or THEN it's time for the "next hot new".
-
Rhule took us backwards. Steichen, nobody knows if he can be a good HC and if he's not we're stuck still bleeding out for 3-4 years more. I understand the hope and excitement about the new crop but we desperately need someone who can come in and right the ship. Our players don't need a rookie head coach, they're not rookies. Rhule was a terrible hire, should have listened to Vegas. Rolling the dice on Kafka would be irresponsible right now, where we are as a team. We need experience, we need to stop the bleeding asap. We can't rely on what ifs. We must get the best man for THIS job(who wants the job) back on the phone. Harbaugh 2023

Hot rods jumping the gun.

Go on record now before the hire is made Re: Sean Payton

It should be country wide, unless it's been previously agreed upon or something like that. -
I am rooting for the GIANTS tonight and you should too!

We know you've got a matching Cowboys jersey for date nights. -

Harbaugh 2023
-
Better to stand for a real HC than someone who isn't one at all.
-
Before the draft I had Carson Strong and Matt Corral as having the two best completion percentages in their careers. The Panthers chose Corral and brought him in pre draft. Yes, I was happy.
-
I did want either of the most accurate QBs from the 2022 draft and one of them is here so I'm gonna keep hope alive. Maybe, just maybe somebody will pick up the phone, and the check book...
-
Fun fact: After being the long time starter at QB for the Bears after Jim McMahon, who replaced Jim Harbaugh at QB for the Bears? Sean Payton. Those guys shared a locker room.
-
Well, usually a coach saves their last interview for the team they really want to coach. Harbaugh is the superior choice because just like Payton you get a coach who has played QB in the NFL from the Mike Ditka school (toughness above all) and a stellar resume and win percentage. Only difference between the two is demeanor. Opposite personalities from what I can see but the same results. That being said, being that Sean Payton is reported to have accepted the rescheduling of the Panthers meeting having left and then having slept on the Denver meeting/deal could prove to be in the Panthers favor if you're OK with Payton. I still think going all out on trying to hire Harbaugh like they should have when his people called would be cheaper as in no picks and any buyout if any would be much more friendly. Harbaugh wasn't feeling the love and pulled his name out. Tickling his ear before the next couple meetings wouldn't hurt either. He may still want the job and if HE does we don't get raped by the Saints and we get an equal or better coach who can also take over the ship immediately.

Saints sending us Sean Payton be like..
rippadonn replied to The Huddler's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nobody knows if he's a HC yet. It's a calculated risk our front office whiffed on already with the media flavor of the day Matt Rhule instead of the Vegas favorite at the time to get the Panthers HC job, Jim Harbaugh. Vegas knew way back then exactly what we needed and it's not an inexperienced HC to follow the last inexperienced HC. -
