Is this an issue with Darnold, or an issue with the OC? I really don’t care if Darnold succeeds, but if you’re trying to be objective, he’s never had a good OC situation and it’s not like any other QBs on the teams he’s been on have excelled. Unfortunately for the NFL QB, so much of whether you make it or not is getting in the right system with the right coaches on the right team. Look at Matt Stafford for a recent example. He was just so-so to me until he got on the Rams and he went to the next level. It may be Sam Darnold has just been very unlucky so far in the support resources around him. Will be very interesting to see what happens this coming season.

I’m willing to give him one more shot with a competent OC. Joe Brady and the replacement OC were completely figured out. No QB had a chance last year.

Hit the brakes (it’s OTAs) and it’s debatable overall. But I do hope Corral is that good. We have him on a rookie contract for a while.

Joe Brady with no film available of his limited offensive schemes (I.e 2020) and being able to try a lot of new things is a lot different than Joe Brady coordinating with a year plus of film and tendencies available (2021). He was figured out and he couldn’t adjust against far superior NFL-level defensive coaches.

You obviously didn’t watch last year. I’ll be surprised if we aren’t picking on day two. I expect we will, possibly even multiple times.

Get that optimism and even potential realism out of here. It’s supposed to be all doom, gloom, and armchair QB around here!

The receivers group’s frustration was making it obvious. Robby couldn’t contain himself. Our offensive game plans were god awful beyond the Cowboys game outside of the Cardinals and WFT games before the offense with Cam was also figured out.

Counterpoint: He had time on several occasions because the defense was sitting on routes they knew were coming and laying off the rush. Brady’s offense was figured out in week 4 and beyond.

This is how I feel too.

Cleveland is screwed (as usual).

His/her posting history is very interesting as this thread has unfolded. Seems very similar to those situations.

Not worth it. Stick with Darnold over that.
