  1. Yes. His body of work is small but what is there, and what is good is outerworldly My feeling is that what he has cannot be taught what he needs to improve on can be taught and the Panthers have teachers others disagree and that’s ok but for me it’s Stroud because he is an already baked cake or it’s AR who could become something very special in a world of Carrs and Tannehills people who think this guy is going to get out of the top 10 are kidding themselves
  2. From Bleacher Report pulled comment on David Carr only NFL Free Agents Teams Will Regret Spending Big Money On GARY DAVENPORTFEBRUARY 21, 2023 There are two types of teams in the NFL: those who already have a franchise quarterback and those who do not. Teams in the latter group will talk themselves into doing some wacky stuff—see: Carson Wentz over the last two seasons. The New York Jets have already kicked the tires this offseason on Derek Carr. The New Orleans Saints have been linked to the 31-year-old as well. Those won't be the only two teams who take a run at Carr. The more teams that show interest, the bigger his contract is likely to get. But whichever team hands Carr a truck full of cheddar is likely to get Wentz'd. Last year, Carr was 14th leaguewide in passing yards (3,522), which is neither terrible nor great. However, he was 30th in completion percentage (60.8), 24th in passer rating (86.3), tied for third in interceptions (14) and tied for 18th in yards per attempt (7.0). Those numbers shouldn't inspire any team to hand Carr a contract worth $40-plus million annually. And make no mistake, that's entirely possible. Spotrac estimates his new deal will average $37.7 million per season. For his career, Carr is 16 games below .500 as a starter and has made one postseason start in nine years. In other words, while Carr may not be a bad quarterback, he isn't an especially good one, either. And handing him $35-$40 million a season is a risky bet.
  3. Seems like a good guy….doing his mental reps I like him I watched him on tv a few times and didn’t impress me but it might have been an off game
  4. From what I’ve seen over the years, Frank values processing speed, the ability to do chunk plays (big arm), prototypical size, and mobility in the pocket that’s what he wants and I believe he stated the same in his press conference not all coaches value all those particular traits in other words, given this years draft prospects, Andrew luck Lite or a better version of Wentz
  5. That was my thought as well when Frank was hired. Those 3, in that order
  6. Mods. I wasn’t sure where to put this so pls merge if appropriate Per Ryan Fowler on tweeter Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker has met extensively with the Raiders, Panthers, Giants, Saints, and Cowboys during the pre-draft process, per source. The dual-threat talent is expected be healthy and ready for training camp after suffering a torn ACL in Nov.
  7. From another site. The write up by an expert after the Mahomes pick by Chiefs
  8. There are many times in need of a QB there are also teams that are good and will take a swing to improve the qb position. Reference kc moving up from nowhere to take Mahomes and the 49ers for Lance Its ridiculous for anyone to think teams outside of the top ten won’t try and move up
  9. Don’t care how many picks a team has. In the current nfl, with rules geared to offense, if they don’t have a starting qb, they have zero you can believe in the Darnold and Corral disaster if you wish but I want better we are in a position to get better at QB. Go get it
  10. Agree Carr is going to cost a lot of money is he worth it, hard to say…I think McDaniels is franchise killer and Carr was treated not well but Carr is serviceable. So was Bridgewater. So was fill in the blank I'm Pretty tired of wounded, underproducing QBs, other teams cast offs it’s time for the Panthers to go big Go get Stroud whatever it takes just freakin do it the GM has said over and over again ‘desired position is to draft and grow a qb’ with this coaching staff of supposed ‘teachers’, the time is now if not now, when?
  11. He has a coach who does. I’m sure he is capable
  12. We don’t know, and probably will never know, the full story with any of these former and current players I feel the Panthers are better to draft the QB they want. If it takes 3 firsts, it takes 3 firsts for someone who could lead this team for years and provide stability at the position Given the number of ‘teachers’ on the coaching staff, all indications are drafting a QB they also need a backup, 17 game season demands it they have Eason and Corral. Eason has a history with Reich
  13. So much depends on the movement of carr rodgers jimmy g once that clears, better picture the combine, too, will be interesting if any of the top 4 are there I’ve wanted CJ or AR from the start. It will be what it is One has the goods and one can become the goods with maturity and coaching I’ll just say, if this experienced staff believes that who they pick is worth multiple picks, do it just do it
  14. One interesting addition to this post in bold from Mike Kaye The #Panthers are expected to hire former Rams DB coach Jonathan Cooley as their cornerbacks coach, according to two league sources. I’m told they’ll have a separate coach for safeties. @JourdanRodrigue had Carolina-Cooley connection first.
  15. Panthers expected to hire Jonathan Cooley as DB coach As first reported by Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic and later confirmed by Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer, the Panthers plan to hire Jonathan Cooper as their next defensive backs coach. Cooper has spent the last three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, where he crossed paths with Carolina’s new defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero.
  16. The Panthers players have to be excited they have never played for this level of coaching I was struck by something g Steve Smith said on WFNZ after Wilks wasn’t selected…paraphrasing ‘showing up against your boss’s former company like you are sleepwalking’ referring to the loss to the Steelers at home with Mitch Trubisky at QB i somehow don’t think there is going to be any sleep walking tolerated with this staff.
