Tepper getting absolutely destroyed on WFNZ
carpanfan96 replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers

I've never thought he had the foot speed to be a LT.
-
New coach will want to move on from him after next season. He's got next year and next year only to prove himself.
-
He was still horrible for half a season and they protected the hell out of him during the half he was good.

game day thread....just in case you're watching
carpanfan96 replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep. Good NFL qb's should at least be competent and effective enough to make defenses pay when blitzed and be able to step away and feel pressure to make throws. I think the average time to throw in the NFL is under 3 seconds in today's game... -

Need a whole new offense, basically a whole new oline, new wr's, new te, new rb, new qb. Need to replace every single component for the most part. It's so difficult to watch. -
The Panthers defense faces the fewest pass plays in the league, teams run the ball nearly 50% of the time against them. Even then most of those passes are either off play action or short passes and screens. Pass rush doesn't exactly have a ton of chances when only facing 28 passing downs a game on average. Oh and the rush defense isn't bad, it's 12th in ypc at 4.1. I read this forum and I swear most don't watch games and if they do, they don't understand football. Burns is doubled 15% of the time, he's 6th among all edge rushers in pass rush win rate at 24%. The Panthers overall are 12th in the league in pass rush win rate.. You can't get many sacks when other teams aren't. 1. Thowing the ball much 2. Throw off play action when they do pass deep or 3. Otherwise throw short quick passes against you.

Since lots use pff on here.. (even though I'm not a huge fan myself) Pff has him rated the highest they've had in his career so far this season. His run grade is up to 67, pass rush in the low 80's, coverage at 85, overall at 76. It's Hard to get sacks when you're always loosing. (Most players sacks come from obvious passing situations) He doesn't like change, So it takes him a while for new schemes. He's dropping back more and has more responsibility in this scheme compared to last scheme. They keep evero and he will take off even further next season under him.

Trick fitt and the Teppers into a locked basement. Resign luvu. trade BY for whatever I can get. Focus on dline, oline and WR in FA. Run Dalton out at QB, power run and play action passing for a year. Lean on the defense and keep them fresh. Go into 2025 with a high first round draft pick and go from there. Most importantly, make sure that the Teppers and Fit stay locked in the basement.

I saw his footwork and off schedule/timing throw issues as well as him bringing pressure on himself and I'm not an NFL scout. He wasn't close to being my #1 qb in this draft. He was 3rd and I'm questioning that now. I said it during the draft lead up, you can't trade to #1 and take Young. It had to be Stroud or AR

Bryce Young Cannot Make Basic NFL Throws
carpanfan96 replied to BIGH2001's topic in Carolina Panthers
The bad thing is the footwork stuff was a problem in college. It just didn't matter 90% of the time. -
The Athletic: “‘Hunger Games’ culture” at BOFA
carpanfan96 replied to SuperBowlBound's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because they knew we would suck for the season. Some of the staff wanted to redshirt him too. -
Because she's on the panel that makes final football decisions along With Tepper, Morgan and Fitt. She's trying to learn football. Which if she's in that position.... is good I guess.
-
He got compared to Wilson and Murray but the difference is that both of those players are naturally 205-210 pounds and thick and can escape sacks in the pocket with regularity. Bryce plays at 185-190 and doesn't have the frame to get up to 210 or so naturally. That is ignoring his footwork and his seemingly to be unable to correctly perform 3 step and 5 step timing routes because he gets off schedule with his extra hitches
-
He shoulda never been in the conversation for qb1 in the draft. I mean I'm not a scout and only played oline in highschool but watching his tape at Alabama...everything shows up 100%. Bad footwork, below average arm, slight frame, inability to read front 7 and being able to slide the line to protect himself. Inability to get the ball out on time for timing concepts on 3 and 5 step drops. I don't know what to say to anyone, I thought the staff woulda been able to fix the extra hitches, bad footwork and make progression on his line reading because of his intelligence... but....
-
It's Tepper. If it was up to Frank, he wouldn't have started game 1 or been named the starter to begin with. Well if it was up to Frank alone, I don't think he woulda been drafted to begin with... but I digress I don't think people actually understand how much he meddles with his coaching staffs and front office staff. Think Jerry Jones but worse because he gets into play call meetings
-
I'll add this, his bad traits showing up and not having been fixed in training camp... Makes me question having him as my qb3. Maybe shoulda been qb5 or 6. I said it before the draft, trading up to #1 meant picking one of two qb's. AR because his floor is much higher than people think. His footwork is tons better than BY and it shows on tape. Or Stroud the player most ready to step in and play.
-
There was a reason he was my qb3 in the draft and it wasn't just his size. He also took a ton of pressure that he shouldn't have at Alabama. The reason it was all overlooked is NFL scouts try to get cute and think one trait can overcome a ton of issues in players. With Bryce that was his football mind. Which I question because of the extra pressure he cause while at Alabama.
-
He lead the draft eligible qb's with pressure, sacks and hits responsible for. His draft profile shows his frame and arm strength being below average. His profile also shows he struggles with timing concepts and plays well off schedule. If he's even remotely successful he will be the first sub 200 qb to do that and he will be the shortest successful qb in NFL history as well. So he would break the mold so much that he would accomplish two firsts on size alone.

Russini: Some coaches wanted to bench Young
carpanfan96 replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dalton ran the scheme just fine. It's the qb that Tepper drafted that's the issue with the playcalling and scheme fit. Not the headcoaches fault. Not the hc fault when the owner meets with you each week and demands you add to the playbook and scheme. . Dalton in one game, has 20% of the passing yards and 22% of the td's that Young has in 10 games. Frank's offense is timing based, take your steps and throw the ball. There is a reason why Bryce led all draft eligible qb's in pressure and sacks responsible for in the last draft. -

Yea it's real and it's worse than I can explain. Just wait and see if other things from inside the building leak. -

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. Reich was fired because Bryce was about to get benched after the last two games. Be damn what Tepper wanted. It wasn't some coaches, it was most of the offensive coaches involved. Reich, McCown, Brown and Staley. Couldn't really let Brown go, wouldn't have had enough staff on offense. So he got to stay. -
Lie in public and coaches will talk behind your back to each other.
