  1. As I pointed out in the OP, the Panthers are spending the least amount of their cap money on receivers and tight ends of any team in the NFL and have been the entire time Young has been here. It is true they spend heavily on the offense, it's just not directed towards the receivers or tight ends. So when people say Young should be doing better given all the support the Panthers' have given ($$$), I say those numbers are misguided as they aren't really going to anyone Young can pass to. You can't argue Young has all this support when his receivers on Sundays are a rookie, an undrafted rookie, a reclemation project, someone pulled from a practice squad and Legette. And his TE's are Tremble, another rookie and another practice squad guy.
  2. "You can play the game with wishing we drafted someone else, but you can't say the framework wasn't sound. It was, we've just done poorly in choosing the talent to bring together. " Exactly - except I am not saying I wished they drafted someone else. I'm also not saying they have not tried. As you say, the framework was sound and I agree with what they were trying to do. If Theilen had stayed and Coker had not gone to IR, this year would have looked much different. Especially given how good Tet has looked. I would venture to guess all talk about how bad Young is would never have happened. But Theilen is gone, Coker is on IR still and all the offensive struggles are being blamed on Young which is absurd.
  3. Yes their best draft collateral was spent to support Bryce but that does not change the fact that they made poor choices. Drafting Mingo and Legette and were poor draft choices - ones that crippled the offensive play and did anything but help Young develope. Legette could still turn it around but to this point, he has not been productive. The spending is misleading if you use it to gauge the support given to Young. It doesn't matter what dollar amount you use on the offense if none of it actually goes toward given Young someone to throw a pass to.
  4. Well they guy has war paint on while he watches the game on his computer so that might explain it a little

  6. The shitty mechanics and arm strengths are simply your opinion which have little to no value to me. I'm more intereted in facts.
  7. Gotcha. You are right, he was target 137 times. That will happen when your other receivers are Jonathan Mingo, Terrace Harshall Jr, DJ Chark, Laviska Shenault Jr and Ian Thomas. You know who else had close to 137 targets, Greg Olsen in 2015 with Cam Newton. He had 124 targets and a little over 1100 yards. Getting a lot of targets usually leads to a lot of yards Cam had Olsen in 2015, Young had Theilen in 2023.
  8. Maybe it's because he had Theilen and Coker last year and this year he only has a rookie, an undrafted rookie, a practice squad receiver and a reclamation project. And Legette
  9. LOL. No we just aren't locked into an opinion because we don't like the way he looks.
  10. Theilen was targeted 62 times last year, had 12.8 yrds/rec and a 77.4% catch rate. Not sure where the 137 comes from.
  11. Just tired of the Panthers going form one QB, to another to another to another to another to another to another. They had mayfiled but he wasn't good enough for anyone around here. They had Darnold but again, he wan't good enough for anyone around here. Now it's Bryce. I saw what he is capable of last season with Theilen and Coker. I'm not ready to give up on him simply because he's not performing to the same level with rookies, undrafted free agents and a reclamation project.
  12. I appreciate everything you say. I would only add that Bryce did have that great receiver in Theilen (at least for him). Losing him set him back. There is a lot potential in the rookies but at this point, it is just potential.
  13. I can't argue about the drop/fumble. That's the damndest thing I have ever seen. A couple more of those and I might go to the dark side lol
  14. And how often has that happened in the last 3 years. Besides, the offensive line has nothing to do with the arguments in the OP
  15. Did you not read anything? The Panthers haven't spent any real money on receivers and their draft picks have not been good. That should pretty much sum it up for you.
  16. I never said he needed all pro talent around him. I just pointed out he has never had any real talent besides Theilen and he wasn't anywhere near an all pro
  17. Mingo? Johnson? Chark? Shenault? Marshall Jr? Which of those receivers was a good pick and turned into a good receiver?
  18. He was with Theilen and Coker. WIth the Vikings and Kirk Cousins as QB: Theilen averaged around 10.6 yards/rec and had a 67.8% catch rate WIth the Panthers and Bryce Young as QB: Theilen averaged around 10.2 yards/rec and had a 76% catch rate
  19. True. Moving forward they should look better. BUT, as good as Tet looks, he's still a rookie, Horn is still an undrafted free agent, Legette still struggles and Coker can't stay healthy. IF, Legette can find some consistency and IF Coker can stay healthy, than I think the offense should be better. If not, than that will be on Young.
  20. You are missing the point. It's not that they haven't invested enough resources in the offense, it's that those resources have not produced talent for young to work with.
  21. Trying to properly invest and properly investing are two different things. The bottom line is regardles of the picks and FA signings, Bryce had had a lack of talent to work with
  22. Really because according to pff, he had one of the better ratings under pressure last year.
