Panthers vs. Giants in München

I suppose it depends on your definition of tanking. I don't consider a couple of trades tanking. The CMC trade for us wasn't tanking, just getting draft picks for a guy who wasn't healthy much. And they wanted to play Howell and see what they had. Tanking to me is what Miami did a few years ago, when they basically got rid of a lot of players, and it hasn't got them much other than the ability to challenge for a wildcard spot. -

Pinero was 2-2, and hit his longest fg of the season. -
I noticed the same thing. Passing yards across the board seemed to have dropped. And points as well. So far for this week, only three teams have surpassed the 30 point total, two of them in one game.
-
We never used him properly.
-
Dam, Mayfield might have just made the best play of his career.
-
So did Moody for the forty whiners.
-
Happens with rookies. He has all the physical tools, remains to be seen if he can put it together.
-
Forty niners should have offered us a first for Pinero. Moody is potentially costing them the game.
-
Probably, but it won't really matter. They do that to a lot of teams. We have a couple of years before we have the potential to compete with great teams.
-
I think focusing on the run game and limiting the number of times Bryce throws it also keeps the pressure off helps as well. Of course, playing decent defense against bad teams helps Bryce more than anything.
-
Not sure if Purdy will ever become the next Joe Montana, but he can make some nice throws on occasion.
-
Yardage total is irrelevant for today's game. Its quite clear they are being extremely careful with him. In part to help his confidence, and in part (for this game) because the Giants run defense is so bad. Today was old school football, and Canales is smart for running it that way until he gets more comfortable with Bryce.

I should caveat this and say that Bryce did make a couple of nice throws on that first drive. -
Amazing how when players start playing a little better, coach starts looking a little better.

Didn't screw up, didn't do anything great. I think Dave is trying to bring him and the offense, along very slowly. First drive was mainly the Chuba show. -
No. Definitely want to know what a backfield with Chuba and Brooks will look like though.
-
Watching Wake - Michigan.
-
Agree 100%. And even with loads of talent, all coaches make some questionable calls.
-
Not counting the three in OT, I thought Chuba had about the perfect number of carries (25). At some point, he needs more help from the rest of the offense (passing and another running back).
-
So if it happens, then does that mean Andy Reid might be on the chopping block.

Tanking is silly. It never works. But given that its impossible to predict who will actually be a franchise qb, and who will not, if we are in a position and the team feels that a qb is worth a shot, I don't mind. Virtually everyone thought that Trevor Lawrence was not only a franchise qb, but a generational talent (he is not), while Patrick Mahomes was thought to be a guy who might turn into something, I have zero trust in any predictions about whether a qb will be a good NFL qb. -

Sure you can. Start of this season, we were the worst team in the NFL, by far. Now we are beating teams. Not by much, and they are bad, but its something. They say that to be the best, you have to beat the best. But its also true that to turn a team around, you have to start by winning games against bad teams. And this is a start. Nothing more, nothing less. -
We play our best defensive game of the year and someone starts this silly thread.
-
Not sure that would be much of an upset.
