  1. The only thing I can say about Bryce is this. He has gotten a little better every year. Still not great, but better. And in his first season, he had one of the worst group of receivers in Panthers history, with Thielen being the only one that could get open and catch the ball. They might have been worse than the group that Newton had to deal with in 2017. This will be the the first year in Young's history with the team that the group of receivers he throws to hasn't gone thru major upheaval. Assuming no injuries. Because of that, I expect improvement to continue. Whether it will be enough improvement remains to be seen. Fans here say he can't throw it deep. But we have seen him do it. He doesn't have the best deep throw, but he certainly can throw it deep when he has time and an open receiver. The deep ball to Legette against Atlanta was a beautiful deep ball. You have to have receivers that can get open and catch the ball to throw it deep.
  2. Personally I think that to many teams force a guy to be a day one starter from the get go. You draft in the first round because you think the player has the potential to be a star. Playing and starting should be based on how they adjust to the NFL and draft position shouldn't matter.
  3. Lock as in a first round pick? Maybe, but if they struggle, throws some picks, that could change. The difference between first round pick and later rounds is a small one.
  4. And it wasn't anyone mentioned previously. We don't really know what the new season will bring. Nor do we know how good any of these guys will actually be.
  5. Many of us didn't believe in us in 2015. 1/3 of the fans didn't like Cam. They thought Stewart was done. When Kelvin Benjamin went down, many thought the season was over.
  6. If we get three solid players out of this draft (or any other) its a good draft. Of course, we won't really know how good it is until 2 years or so have gone by.
  7. They were talking about how his lack of a vertical leap turned scared some teams off. I guess he won't be playing power forward for us.
  8. More highly rated by who? The Media or some analyst? Morgan said that they thought the guy we picked was our most highest rated player left on the board. While it remains to be seen if they were right, the team's ratings are the only ones that matter when the pick is made.
  9. They are talking about South Carolina GameCOCK players being drafted I guess.
  10. I wonder if other teams fan bases obsess over meaningless signings as much as we do.
  11. It confirms nothing of the sort. He is practice squad fodder who will likely be cut.
  12. They currently have two picks in the top 10, and three in the top 40. They don't want a qb. So I can't see any reason why they would be willing to trade those picks, unless someone makes a stupid offer.
  13. Sorry to hear about your daughter, hope she gets her life together. My son got married a few years ago, I am hoping to get some grandchildren before I get to old to do anything with them.
  14. Agreed, Mccown and Cousins don't even belong in the same sentence. Unless the sentence is while Cousins is not a Star, he is significantly better than anyone named Mccown.
  15. Tight End is way to high, but other than that, its not bad.
  16. Meh, most mock draft picks beyond the top 5 are just guesses anyway. And fwiw, I don't think they will go WR, but TE might be a possibility. But Oline or Front 7 defense is more likely.
  17. In his one season as a starter, he threw 21 interceptions. If you are throwing it all over the field, gambling on the big play, you might get a lot of yards, but you aren't likely to won many games unless your name is Mahomes or Brady. His games remind me of the Chris Weinke game vs the Giants when he threw for a boat load of yards, but also threw three picks, and lost the game by a decent margin. In the modern era, if you throw 21 picks, you aren't winning many games.
  18. Howell is worse. Far worse. He is a turnover looking for a place to happen. Basically a less talented version of Jameis Winston.
  19. I think it would be Canales plan regardless.
  20. Old school made a comeback last year. Seattle won a Superbowl going old school (defense and running the ball and make some big throws on occassion). Maybe it will work for us.
  21. Camp body usually indicates someone who hasn't played much and is just hanging on. Definitely not the case with this guy. Didn't play much last year, and was injured in 2024, but before that, he had a significant amount of carries. My guess is if he makes the team, he ends up being a third down back on occassion.
