Who the hell is our third stringer? Blackshear?

"So Gano puts the no in Gano."

Jones looking like a power back

I played him today (in a lost fantasy season).

Blackshear has been shaky of late

There's little reason to move Ickey.

OK, good drive. Impressive. But gotta take everything with a grain of salt today.
-
Damn, I thought that was an RB.

Milroe might be worth a look. Just sayin'.

Perhaps they are, but that's not a surety. But they aren't the only elite talent in this draft. I doubt we'll move out of the top 10, and elite players come out of the top 10 all the time, and sometimes below that. Mason Graham may not play a sexy position, but he is considered elite, and elite players on defense can easily be game changers. I could be wrong, but I think you (just like I used to do) have bought into a lot of hype. You should start researching the players on the top of the big boards besides Hunter and T-mac. Not saying that the two won't be as you believe, but there are always others. For instance, I'd heard it said here that they're aren't any elite pass rushers this year, but then I start researching, and that's not necessarily the case. By its very nature, there's a lot of projection going on regarding the draft, but sometimes you have to tune out the noise and research more than just the frontrunners.

There is legit talent in this draft, and it doesn't start or begin with Hunter, T-Mac, Ward or Sanders @CamWhoaaCam. Seriously. Why you think there is some magical dropoff after that, I don't know. The closest thing to a polished product is Hunter, and even he is still going to have to make the transition to the pros. There is an argument that Mason Graham is the most sure thing in this draft.

True, but Johnson's temperament didn't begin in Carolina; hell, it was arguably why he was here.

Huddlers don't realize how much youth and playing on the Panthers is a boost (meaning that teams still perceived untapped potential since we suck so much). Mingo was not the best fit for us right now either. Sure, we have some receivers that can probably play consistently on the outside, but all three (AT, Coker and X) can likely eat on the inside as well. Mingo is probably best in the slot, which was where some experts had him projected before he was in the NFL. I see a true X in our future at some point. Mingo had nothing to do in that equation.

I'd also add that Diontae Johnson was a malcontent.

I love it when people try to ding backs for having a bad O-line. That doesn't make much sense in my opinion. Do you believe that backs that run behind bad O-lines--historically bad O-lines don't suffer in reference to stats? I've looked at some of the best and worst backs. How many times did I see CMC run into the pile and get stuffed? They're going to lose some yards, I don't care who they are, that's why you keep consistently giving them the ball to keep defenses honest, get the back into a rhythm, catch the defense off balance, and give the back an opportunity to break one. Chuba's main knock is that he's really not a breakaway back and doesn't take it to the house like backs with more speed and dynamicism. That can be a big thing, but not every back is that, and none of them are the same. Chuba's value will be determined by the market. He's not going to get top money, and he's not going to get bottom money either, but his running style and productivity has value.

That's never worked for me.

D.J. questioned the coach's decision to let the tackle run the ball last week too. He's a wife receiver; y'all know he got some diva in him.

Saints players and slant boy go off on Carr

I mean, I agree about the Saints, but Diontae is a Raven and Thielen has seen his best days. Our receivers of the future, the ones we should be getting used to, were on the field. They're green (as well as the HC) and are going to make mistakes, but I suspect they have more in the tank than playing with Bryce Young allows us to see. -
I will never be sad about a win. If you can't build a football team because of a win, you just don't know what you're doing. I suggest you get familiar with the big boards, but remember that they're all based upon educated opinions at the end of the day. And, also remember, as was pointed out to you the other day, that mock drafts and big boards aren't equal. There is an argument that big boards ultimately provide a more true reflection of value because they aren't based upon need. https://www.pff.com/draft/big-board?season=2025 https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/positions/ALL/1/2025 https://www.on3.com/boards/ In case you don't get it, I tell you all this to say that there will still be plenty of talent wherever we fall. Being that we need (well) basically everything, we should be just fine.

Yep, and without their top two receivers. I love beating them, but I hate they're in front of us in the draft. -
After today, I don't even know if we'll be in a position to get Ward. I'm loath to trade assets.
-
Dude, did you miss the near-picks today?

Perfect time to trade him...

Last night my son and I were checking out Ward and Sanders. When Sanders flexed after a QB, my son literally said, "Man he's small." Sure I realize it's an anecdote, but my son has an uncanny ability to be right when it comes to certain things NFL (even though he's not as fanatical as me). On an off note, for the record, he said "I don't know," as it pertained to Ward. And then, while we were looking at Shedeur, he later said, "We should pick Hunter and just leave those two guys alone." He does think Hunter is going play both positions. I told him that that's probably not going to work, and he told me that if Hunter must choose, he's playing WR. He said, "Who is going to pick cornerback over wide receiver when looking at cornerback money and wide receiver money?"
