1.Mike Hughes CB, UCF

This guy plays like an elite big boy corner, shut down every big name wr or limited them where the team would move them to other side of field or slot. Good speed, short space quickness and hips that can mirror a wr. Got kicked out of North Carolina cause of some stupid/immature sorority fight but other than that stays out of trouble.

2.Anthony Miller WR, UM, 

Plays similar to Antonio Brown and has passion like Steve Smith. Could put on some muscle but he is actually 5'11, taller than his popular nfl comparisons. Great hands, adjustment under/behind thrown balls on the fly and quickness/speed. He can run crisp run routes which help him get open, can play both in slot/outside and is a deep threat. Also has good injury history.

3.Deshon Elliot FS, UT

Raw young guy that capitalizes off qbs mistakes well with int. A threat at anytime to run back a pick six also with good open field  running and decent speed. could work on covering ability but good value in the 3rd and could learn from a vet in secondary with him.

3. Kerryon Johnson RB, UA

Tough nosed down hill runner from Auburn with deceptive speed. Reminds me of Demarco Murray and has some patience like Leveon Bell. Would be the thunder to lightning(MCcaffrey) in the backfield. Few have people have concerns about his health but has not missed many games.

5.Brandon Parker LG, NC A&.T

Underrated 6'7 guy from a small college that won a NC. Played LT but I think he would better if he slid inside to lg because he doesn't have quick lateral feet. Once he gets his hands on you though its OVER! Guy might have the most pancakes out of all Olinemen in this class. Also can run well enough to pull block.

6.Skai Moore, OLB, South Carolina

Lanky guy  with speed, good tackler and a nose for the football while in the air. Could learn under Davis last year as a Panther. He can cover rb/te very good. would be higher if not for off field issues and missing a season due to neck surgery. scouts also think he could be a tweener strong safety(Jenkins,mathieu for ex). If he stays out of trouble and can stay healthy this could be a steal. needs to add muscle/weight.

He had 93 tackles with eight for a loss, two sacks, two passes broken up and three interceptions in 2017.

7.Chris Herndon TE, UM(FL)

Got hurt in the middle of Miami's run which affected them in the long haul. He might drop due to lack of stats(avg qb) and his injury. When he is on the field though he can block excellent and catch just as well. Also Miami is known for great TE in the nfl.

7.Marquez Valdes-Scantling WR, USF

6'4 wr with 4.3 deep threat speed but he has great hands. He is also limited with just the 9 route and maybe comeback/slant sometimes. Had one of the best yard per avg(16.6) on 53 catches and 879 yards. Cam has a great deep ball and this guy get separation. Lots of times he had to slow down to catch the passes preventing potential tds.

Update just before the draft. Just messing around with some ideas here and there. My objective is to draft impact players and players that blossom into HOF. I'm also trying to be realistic with who might rise or fall and if Panthers are interested in certain players.

 

Also my opinion about certain players have changed. Also certain players can earlier or later. I'm aware of that. Best player available and need type of draft.

 

Trade down in first round for extra *3rd. Trade down in 2nd round for extra *4th.

1.Oliver,Jackson or Alexander CB  (like Hughes the best still but Panthers are so scary  of off field issues...with good reason sometimes.)                     

2.Martinas Rankins LG/C  (he can slide into guard or center and play well.https://www.nfl.com/prospects/martinas-rankin?id=32462018-0002-5601-845a-acb4f8dd89a0 )      

           

*3.Deshon Elliot FS (like him better than bates, covers better and more turnovers. takes better angles and more instinctive. Panther's defense miss the turnovers)

                 

3.Anthony Miller wr(ran 4.48 at pro day, Panthers like him with good reason)

 

 

3.Allen Lazard WR(redzone FREAK. runs good smooth routes and adjust to underthrown ball and overthrows. has the height and length and plays big. good hands also. Heard he is rising fast and I think his tape warrants him this pick. Also Panthers suck in redzone.)      

              

 

*4.Chad Thomas DE   (has good potential and good rotational guy behind peppers and Addison.)          

       

 5.John Kelly RB(The next Kamara?? Thick short power shifty underrated back that also catches.)  

 

6.Jordan Atkins TE  (best open field runner as a tight-end ahead of Andrews,Hurst and Goedert...not much of a blocker but can learn. Runs those seam routes that Cam love and is quick, fast off the line.)

                           

7.Skai Moore OLB (see above pervious draft. basically potential stud cover olb that create turnovers, something the Panthers defense sorely miss since 2015)    

                        

7.Marquez Valdes Scantling WR (see above pervious draft. basically runs 4.3 and is 6'4)

American football is like a chess match with shoulder pads - the strategic element is just as important as the physical skills of those playing. I started to watch the NFL when I worked in custom essay service, back in the days when Channel 5 showed late-night American sports. I'd get home about the time it was starting, and would stick it on instead of watching the other miscellaneous rubbish on offer.

      I'm not sure 19 is too high for Rodriguez anymore.  He looks to be moving up boards, but it could be smokescreens.

      I see XL this way---great athlete.  Good person.  When we drafted him, we knew he was raw.  One year of WR in college (starting) and in HS, he was a QB, I believe. We knew we would need patience with him.  I think year 3 will be make or break.  He is older, and I think that people with his athletic ability have always been better than those with less---but those with less can become more successful.  Why is that?  in my view, it is mental. XL can learn the mechanics and nuances of playing WR if he becomes focused on it and works at it.  I had the opportunity to talk to Armanti Edwards one day after OTAs (great guy) and he discussed how overwhelming it was.  He seemed shocked.  At that time, I knew that Fox hated the pick (I heard him mock Armanti to another coach when he saw Edwards drop a punt from a jugs machine--then I saw Armanti look back at Fox as if to suggest that he was feeling the pressure to please the coach. We forget that these are kids in their early 20s.  At the time, Fox was a lame duck.  Remember when he had Clausen as the #3 QB and was forced to move him up the ladder?  I liked Fox, but I think the climate and culture was influenced by the politics.  Currently, I see another Wr from SC who is struggling, but he is ina  very nurturing, positive culture. Let's see what happens with XL.  I am frustrated too---but XL was a second round talent who was raw and we traded up to get him.  He had 500 yards as a rookie--lets call 2025 a sophomore slump and see if we can't get at least 50 yards per game out of him.  If not, cut bait.

      Sadiq feels like a lazy comp.  Sure he would be a big improvement over what we have but at a position we don't and maybe can't (midget qb) utilize.  I hope the staff puts together a list of players you automatically take at 19 (Freeling, Lemon, Downs, Faulk) and if none are there, trade back to look at (Thieneman, McNeil-Warren, Proctor, Lomu, Allen, Iheanachor, Banks, Woods).  I get the people that think an OT would be a waste because we temporarily patched that hole, and ILB and safety are a waste because that is high to take those particular positions, but by trading back we get extra picks to fill every need.  A draft that has an OT, S, ILB, slot WR, and C would really put us in a good position moving forward if we get an extra first three rounds additional pick.
