Dealing with injuries, just the offseason, trying to make sure I'm ready to go for the season.

Feels good to be competing for LT.  Nothing is given.  Everyone is competing for everything.  LT is where they told me I'm going to play so.  Looing forward to getting out there and competing.  Good to know what they want me to do, how they see me. In my career I've been labeled a jack of all trades.  Now I'm getting an opportunity to play a position that I feel I can excel at.   There's ups and downs all the time. Feels good to have clarity.

Yes I will be healthy for camp.

Are you the front runner at LT?
To my knowledge, Yes sir.

Feel like I'm fitting in with the olinemen.  No age limit on learning or leadership.  In this room I'm one of the old guys.  We joke around.  

Always a blessing to get paid what you deserve--we call Taylor Franchise around here.  laughs  Taylor brings a lot of leadership, by his play and by being someone to talk to in the locker room.  There's a lot to being a leader and Taylor has done nothing but that.

I feel Sam has elite arm talent and this is his fresh start.  There was a disconnect in Cleveland, KC was a fresh start.  Grew as a player in Dallas going from swing tackle to RT to LT.  I was able to grow through trying year at Dallas.  I had to have a fresh start,  like Sam given an opportunity.

I was impressed with Cam Erving. We talk about these players like they're pieces on a board and their effectiveness, but the stories of injury and perseverance and opportunities and challenges are really fascinating.

Cam Erving may surprise us y'all.  He seems hungry.  Game on.

Cameron Erving Focused On Becoming Latest Panthers LT (theriotreport.com)

The No. 19-overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Erving was selected by the Cleveland Browns after starring at left tackle at Florida State, where he was a member of the school’s 2014 National Championship-winning team and was both a First-Team All-American and First-Team All-ACC. There was no way Erving was playing left tackle in Cleveland early on – That job indisputably belonged to future Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Thomas – 

Erving started at left guard as a rookie, then moved to center the next season before being moved to right tackle. The Browns ultimately gave up on him and traded him to Kansas City where Erving became the starting left guard and also started at left tackle in place of an injured Eric Fisher. One Super Bowl ring later, Erving played all across the Dallas Cowboys offensive line in 2020, ultimately ending up at left tackle due to multiple injuries. 

His career as an NFL player has typecast him as a journeyman, and he also has the advance of time to contend with as he turns 29 in August. At the very least, Erving is getting his wish to play the tackle position, which he has remained the most passionate towards even after playing all across NFL offensive lines.

      I binged the entire series, including Ep 9, this afternoon. It's a hockey version Hard Knocks, but well worth the watch.

      People seem to forget that Wallace is still 23 and will not turn 24 until February 2027.  There were a lot of players drafted who are older.

      The only thing I can say about Bryce is this. He has gotten a little better every year.  Still not great, but better.  And in his first season, he had one of the worst group of receivers in Panthers history, with Thielen being the only one that could get open and catch the ball.  They might have been worse than the group that Newton had to deal with in 2017.  This will be the the first year in Young's history with the team that the group of receivers he throws to hasn't gone thru major upheaval.  Assuming no injuries.  Because of that, I expect improvement to continue.  Whether it will be enough improvement remains to be seen. Fans here say he can't throw it deep.  But we have seen him do it.  He doesn't have the best deep throw, but he certainly can throw it deep when he has time and an open receiver.  The deep ball to Legette against Atlanta was a beautiful deep ball.  You have to have receivers that can get open and catch the ball to throw it deep.
