Kings buyout Hughes

A source familiar with the situation said Hughes would like to sign with the Bobcats. Hughes played in Philadelphia for Bobcats coach Larry Brown and worked with Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins when Higgins was in management roles in Washington and Golden State.

Higgins and Brown both declined comment on Hughes, who would clear waivers late today.

Signing Hughes to a veteran-minimum contract in time to be playoff-eligible would cost the Bobcats about $240,000 the rest of the season, a number that would still keep them below the threshold to pay the NBA's luxury tax. Jordan and Higgins have said the team has no intention of being a tax-paying franchise this season.

Henderson will not get more PT.. Brown wont allow it.. he likes his vets

Like i said before, when are we bringing Eric Snow in? We flirted with AI, brought in Raja, Ratliff and now talks of Hughes. What's with all of LB's has been 76er players he keeps bringing in? If your going to bring in your old players at least bring some newer ones from the Pistons team.

I've got no problem with them bringing in Hughes. The guy is versatile, can play 3 positions and would add some needed depth with the loss of Flip. I agree he's on the decline but why not bring him in to give us 10-15 solid minutes off the bench?

and some much needed points off the bench

    • My take on Darnold was always that he was fine with a good offensive line but would wilt under pressure with a poor line (Jets and Panthers). Seattle began the year w/ a pretty bad oline and they improved somewhat but Darnold is showing he is a pretty good qb. Imagine what the Panthers would be today with Darnold and without Bryce Young and all the wasted draft picks to get him.
    • Similar situation but that would be a better version than what we currently have. Sam isn't a franchise QB but he is a good bridge guy. Either Seatle finds a young guy to groom or they have hit their ceiling. They 100% can't put it on Sam's shoulders and expect to win but the team needs to carry less with him at QB to win vs what this team has to do with Bryce.
    • to me the post would suggest Sam Darnold was good last night because Seattle won in a wild game.   Which is what we do with Bryce Young.   Sam Darnold didn't play well last night.  Which is how he trends, goes to a new team.....looks okay and becomes classic Sam Darnold down the stretch.  Last 6 or 7 weeks old bad Sam is coming out a lot (and then a weird Atlanta game mixed in lol).
