ya, i would've slipped jordan carstens in there too, but he has some kind of illness which took him out of football. i forgot what it was. he was pretty good though.

deke cooper. we're having a rough time agreeing on that 4th safety. you think cooper, i think grant, the other dude thinks mccree. i'm half expecting someone to mention nate salley here in a minute. i think they're all about as good as the next honestly.

i had the opposite idea. i think martin is a great cover safety from the little we saw of him, which makes him a natural free safety. i think godfrey has historically been awful at coverage. he's often out of position, but does show flashes of coverage ability, which is why i switched him to strong safety.

Yea you've got a point. I just think it would be nice to field them both at the same time and take advantage of their speed.

bumping in order to do a quick revision.

still really early, but if clausen ends up being better than delhomme, and 2-3 of our new receivers can beat out the ones i have listed in the op, i'd be content with saying we have 68-70% of the best players we could have if we had found some way to keep them, ie. the cap being a non-issue. if jamar williams beats out tim shaw, that'd be another one. i'm really hyped. i think we're moving in a great direction, and the front office is doing an incredible job weeding out the dead weight while keeping our top talent. 70% is impressive for an nfl franchise in this day and age. of course, this is just my opinion. you can do your own lists to see how well you think the front office has done.
