Jerry Sloan

------------------------------------

Lake Show will win this series in 6 games. Jazz are a good team and Sloan deserves props for getting an injured squad past Denver in the 1st round. But this team wont get it done against LA. Boozer who was great last series will now have to work around 2 7 footers in the lane. Deron Williams should be able to exploit Fisher if his wrist isnt messed up, but it wont be enough.

Lakers’ center Bynum has small meniscus tear

EL SEGUNDO, California (AP)—Lakers center Andrew Bynum has a small tear in the meniscus in his right knee, leaving him questionable for Los Angeles’ second-round playoff opener against the Utah Jazz.

Lakers coach Phil Jackson said Bynum might try to play through the pain in Sunday’s opener at Staples Center.

Bynum hyperextended his knee in the first half of the Lakers’ series-clinching win over Oklahoma City on Friday night, but played the second half wearing a brace. An MRI exam on Saturday revealed the tiny tear, which apparently was aggravated by his injury.

Bynum missed the last 13 games of the regular season with a strained Achilles’ tendon, but returned to average 12 points, nine rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots while starting all six games against the Thunder.

Lakers clearly played down to the Jazz's level. Like a trap game, this is a trap series and the Lakers have a rep of taking things too lightly sometimes. Cleary the far superior team, even more so with the Utah injuries. The only way this isn't a sweep is if the Lakers slack off again in the next few games.

The 4th quarter is always Kobe time and Game 1 was no different as the games most clutch player drained 11 points in the final 4 minutes of the game to bail out the Lakers after the reserves squandered their lead.

Despite injuries #24 lead his team going 12-19 for 31 points.

    • Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.
    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
