New to the Forum/ Game Last Night

Been reading this forum for a while now but just joined.

I went to the game last night and have a few observations:

The Obvious: Our corners looked young (they are). Scared to give up the big play, poor positioning, etc. That may be that we were just running a base D. There were a few passes by Miami where they had the deep ball open and either overthrew it or the receiver dropped it. My main concern though was the line of scrimmage. Our D-Line was blown off the ball by 3-5 yards almost every play with the exception of the goal line stand that was pretty solid (took them 5 attempts from the 2 to get in) after a penalty and going for it on 4th down.

Maybe not so obvious: I noticed that the receivers stopped running when Cam would scramble. I'm not big on scrambling QB's but there could be something cool if Smith (who was out) gets more time on DB's and Cam still looks down field while he evades.

The Good: We are deep at LB. A lot of players were out. That was about it.

Welcome to the board.

On a few of Cam's scrambling plays it did look like he was looking down field to throw the ball but because he's so quick whenever he scrambles he's going to be in danger of making an illegal forward pass pretty quick.

Our D-Line needed work last night. Maybe it was cause Johnson only played one series, maybe because Everette Brown is the second coming of Spinderella but it was like a jailbreak up front.

    • As the demand for apartments grows parking is becoming limited and it’s sad. I use to tailgate but I just park at uncc deck now and train in and head to rhino market. My tailgate grill hates me.
    • It simply depends on perspective. CMC, when healthy and on the field, has a higher YPC and YPR than LT. Yes, he's been injury prone, but this is simply a "all quarter-century team." There are certainly different stats and different lists. If this were a list or about a team simply based on longevity, then of course LT wins that every time, but some lists are more subjective and nuanced depending upon what they are, and it's not necessarily a reflection upon a person's ability to analyze sports.
    • From my what I have seen the overwhelming majority of people who are considering the notion a possibility don't really want to see it happen but are considering so for a number of reasons. Most importantly availability. Secondly even when he plays the last few seasons he has been red hot or ice cold. Then there is the subject of his defense which to say the least leaves a lot to be desired. Then there is the image of Ball inactive laughing it up on the sideline (while our team was getting the doors blown off) with previous busts who are now relegated to hanging on by a thread in the g league. I think we should be able to recognize with the team going out of their way to put a very strong emphasis on culture and leadership with the conclusion of this years draft that they expect LaMelo to lead the way this upcoming season and that begins with making significant strides and trending in a positive direction in the aforementioned aspects above. It just has to happen.
