Baltimore #Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano will be the next head coach of the Indianapolis #Colts, per PFT.

On Tuesday, a guy who spent one year as a defensive coordinator was hired to be the new head coach of the Raiders. On Wednesday, word has emerged that a guy who spent one year as a defensive coordinator will be hired to be the new head coach of the Colts.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano will accept the job.

Pagano, 51, spent the 2011 season as the coordinator of the Ravens defense, after spending three seasons as the team’s secondary coach. He also has coached with the Browns and Raiders at the NFL level, and at various colleges, including the University of Miami, East Carolina, UNLV, Boise State, and USC.

If the old man was still in charge, he probably would have hired Ted Marchibroda for a 3rd tour as HC.

I like hiring someone on the Defensive side as the HC, but so was Dungy.

I thikn this pretty much seal Peyton's fate at returning as a Colts next year. The questions is, can he pass a physical with another team?

    • It depends on what version of bad we are getting. Can't have the locker room tearing apart over it.
    • I think that depends more on how high our pick is. If we have the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd pick i think we are drafting a QB rather than shopping FA market for a QB1. Curious if we’d be reluctant to start a rookie QB week 1 though.
    • Hurney 2.0 and Fitts were so bad I don't know if it was intentional or they were that abysmally clueless. Fittershits panicked repeatedly being on the back end of positional runs while Hurney couldn't evaluate anyone outside of the 1st.  I can't figure out why Plummer still has a jersey. There's no reason. Dalton brings nothing to the table. If another QB gets cut that has given a glimmer of anything better than what we have, we should look, and that goes for every position.  I cant get over how much different this team could have been with a competent GM and having accepted the Rams offer for Burns. This franchise could have gone in a totally different direction.
