I don't see how one twenty yard pass relates to winning more than two completed ten yard passes. Perhaps I'm just looking at it too superficially, and there is a connection, but I don't get it.

400 yards, 6.4 YPA

300 yards, 10.9 YPA

One is a quarterback throwing the ball without efficiency. When is another throwing the ball with efficiency and it usually leads to your team being in better scoring position and in better position to score in general. If your quarterback has a 10.9 YPA, chances are you are not going to lose.

You probably will lose if your quarterback isn't even scratching 6.5 YPA.
