Play 60 kids program set for Aug. 11 at training camp

Play 60 Kids Day has been rescheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, on the intramural field at Wofford, near Gibbs Stadium and the practice fields. The event was rescheduled due to inclement weather. Children of all ages will enjoy the Kids Combine that promotes the NFL’s Play 60 youth fitness initiative through a variety of interactive football drills. Making special appearances will be the Panthers’ official mascot Sir Purr and the TopCats cheerleaders. The program is free.

On T-shirt Tuesdays (each Tuesday during camp), following practice, Panthers players will give away a select number of official training camp T-shirts to fans.

Academy Sports + Outdoors continues to present Panthers Pals during most open practice sessions. The program offers children ages 6 to 13 an opportunity to watch part of practice from field level and then spend time with a player afterward. Kids register at the Academy Sports + Outdoors Kids Field located outside the entrance to the practice fields. Five names are randomly selected about 30 minutes before the end of practice. Children selected will receive a Panthers Pals T-shirt and be escorted to a special viewing area to watch the conclusion of practice. The program is free.

Throughout training camp, children and families are invited to make the Academy Sports + Outdoor Kids Field part of their training camp experience. The field offers kids and families the opportunity to bring their own football, play catch and show off their superstar moves before, during and after practice.

Friday, Aug. 9 – 8 p.m., Pre-Season game, Panthers vs. Bears (Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, N.C.)
Saturday, Aug. 10 – no practice
Sunday, Aug. 11 – 6:15-8:20 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 12 – 2:30-4:50 p.m. (Panthers Pals)
Tuesday, Aug. 13 – 9-11:20 a.m. (T-Shirt Tuesday)

      Why does Bryce get the blame?

      Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.

      All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
