Just calling my shot here.

Just wanted to make sure I got this down. When it was announced a few years ago that this year's Super Bowl would break the longstanding trend of games down in warm weather locations, I knew it'd mean that that game had the potential to be something special. A Super Bowl in the snow?  Perhaps.

 

One thing that hit me in that moment was the realization that our team at the time was not very good, and looking at what it would take to rebuild it, this year was the year I knew we could make it. I always hope and pull for the team to do well, but there was just something special upon learning the game's location a few years ago that caused me to believe that this year-THIS SEASON-would be our year, and I've been confident in that belief since then.

 

I remember sitting somewhere with a buddy of mine talking football just prior to last season, he knew some thought our team might do well, and while I held out hope, I just didn't have the confidence about that season, in the back of my mind, I still felt we were a year away, and my belief for this season seemed to match up with how our roster was progressing on a yearly basis. A few weeks would pass and Panthers fans on here were supremely confident about our game with Tampa, but I just couldn't shake the negative feeling.

 

Well here we are, finally at the season I've felt for years was OUR year. While the team's refusal to address a few key positions this offseason irritates me to no end because of that feeling. I still do believe this team can do it. I believe that this is our year, and have for some time.

 

Just wanted to make sure I had that down so when we make it, I don't look like I'm speaking in hindsight when I share this story. Frankly you can lock this thread if you want, I just wanted some proof when that day comes.
