Schedule

Off OP's topic but a way to salvage this maybe...

The most daunting aspect of the schedule (to me) is not the overall strength of opponents but the home/away/bye combination of the first month. For our home fans who pile in on the 13th to watch what could be a very good game (and quite tough) there is a month layoff before returning to the "Bank".

Following that game are two road games and a bye week.

Washington, a full month after Carolina plays its first game MAY be too late for some of our fair-weather fans if the Panthers stumble out of the gate. Not to take a pessimistic view but we could easily be 0-3 going into the bye ( I personally think we get two of those at a minimum).

Does anyone else see the potential for the wind to be taken out of the sails or our home crowd if this happens in conjunction with the weird schedule?

I really hate the way it works out...especially the bye placement for what looks to be a very tough schedule.

My God, you will take every opportunity to turn a thread into either a "I Hate jake", or "Our Schedule is Too Tough" thread.

You have made your opinion known the last 1,000 posts you have made on this topic.

Move along.

actually I don't think I have ever commented on the schedule but whatever...

and this post has absolutely nothing to do with the schedule being too tough.

thanks a lot for your opinion

    • Yeah, I’m not fairweather by any stretch.  Y’all know I’m ride or die for our homestate teams, I just don’t pay as much detailed attention until the playoffs…. Which is different than the Panthers or Hornets, but I keep up, just not as well.  So, I was surprised during our playoff run how so well-regarded Freddie was among talking heads and other fans I’ve listened to.  On 99.9 The Fan, all of the radio guys and fans calling in love him and seem to swear by him.  I was legitimately surprised, bc again, I’m no Wayne Gretzky, but I think the math is pretty simple - when a goalie is skating by, pun intended, because the skaters on the ice aren’t even allowing the other team into their offensive zone, your job is pretty fuging easy.  And even then, some of those games, I felt he gave up a cheapie here or there.  So, this felt like the first REAL test. But, I agree…  from watching the game last night, that puck handling, passing, and decision making after we went up 2 was mostly shitty and, at times, reckless.  Seeing our mentality and physicality matched by Vegas and them come out with the win was disheartening to say the least.
    • History is showing us several tackles coming back from this in last few years.
    • Yeah, I don't even know who we have on our team that is on their rookie deal and the Browns would want. Maybe we could have subbed in TMac for Verse and given away the same level of draft picks, but I would rather not. Garrett is somebody you go after when you are a Superb Owl contender. We aren't that
