About Frizzy350

  1. I love that all our guys stepped up the challenge this year.  I still think that even in today's NFL, receivers should be looked at as luxuries, not requirements.
  2. Does Cam Newton stay in the pocket for too long?

This is the first time in his career he's gotten any semblance of time in the pocket.  The huge improvement at the guard position has really allotted him the amount of time (sometimes more!) that is simply a requirement when passing from the pocket.  These young guards + Kalil have cleaned out the trash in the middle, allowing Cam a nice pocket to step into. Climbing a pocket keeps your momentum behind you, allowing freedom with your release while keeping sound mechanics.  Having to evade rushers (moving backwards, left or right) is a complete nightmare as you need to completely reset your feet before you can make a proper throw, which wastes precious time for another rusher to catch up to you. Seriously though go back and rewatch some highlights/games in Cam's first two years.  Oftentimes a 3 man rush was generating pressure in a blink of an eye.  It is inexcusable for a 3 man rush to get to the QB in less than 3 seconds.
  3. Cecil, "Cam is only scratching the surface"

All quarterbacks always still have things to work on.  Brady, Rodgers and Manning all still have to prepare and practice.  You can never be good enough in this league.
  4. Man. This Coldplay presser on nfln sucks.

I'm sure Coldplay will be fine. The only halftime show I remember actually watching was Bruno Mars. He did not disappoint, seriously talented dude. Kinda glad that the NFL is at least trying to bring in acts other than washed up rock stars and teenage pop stars.
  5. Madden NFL 16 Simulated Super Bowl....

They've always had issues with the field and people in the stands.  They probably come close to exhausting all the resources the system has to offer on the player model's alone. I don't understand why they put so much effort into realistic faces.  Seriously, 90% of the game is almost an overhead view that trivializes these special details. Honestly I'll probably end up picking it up for like $4 after the season is over and love it.
  6. Who is the number 1 focus on Denver Offense?

Luke Keuchly.  He is going to catch the most passes from Peyton Manning anyway.
  7. Denvers O-Line vs Carolinas D-Line

Yep.  Everyone is trying to make this the Cam Newton show but I see it playing out a lot like the thanksgiving game against the Cowboys.  Peyton implodes, the run game doesn't exist, and we just let Stew chew up yards all game. Keep yours eye open and your fingers at the twitters for blatantly missed holding calls in the 4th.
  8. Madden NFL 16 Simulated Super Bowl....

Crazy how good the graphics are these days. Also crazy how less realistic looking the gameplay is despite the incredible graphics.
  9. Brad Hoover: "The Patriots Cheated"

Yes he did (Sauerbrun right?).  Pretty sure it was a handful of guys tho.
  10. Brad Hoover: "The Patriots Cheated"

Uhhhh didn't our oline cheat and get caught juicing up that year?
  11. Which way would you prefer to win?

I want Cam to score a rushing touchdown, passing touchdown and catch a touchdown pass.  AND GET A SACK!
  12. Marty Hurney

He wasn't a BAD gm.  He did build some decent teams and did leave a few good things from the early Cam Newton era.  Things weren't looking great for the future of the Panthers and he just kept gambling until the weight of his debt prevented this team from growing
  13. I'm surprised Marvel hasn't contacted you with a job offer to make film trailers. You have a lot of talent and seem to love doing this.  I'd hope you can somehow turn it into a living, if that appeals to you of course.
  14. Marty Hurney

Hurney doesn't deserve anything.  Even the Browns have some elite players.  All teams have superstars, even the bad ones.  You get credit for building a team AROUND those studs to maximize their effectiveness. He wasn't a BAD gm.  He did build some decent teams and did leave a few good things from the early Cam Newton era.  Things weren't looking great for the future of the Panthers and he just kept gambling until the weight of his debt prevented this team from growing
  15. I was iffy as I have very minimal interest in college ball.  My father is a rabid fan.  One day during the holidays I was asking about who was good and whatnot, he mentioned Auburn being undefeated.  I asked him how the heck that happened as Auburn was pegged pretty low in the BCS rankings before the season started.  He told me they had a quarterback who was like Vince Young, but was probably a bit better than him. Fast forward to draft I still had the comparison in my head to Vince Young.  Other draftniks had that comparison.  I had felt VY COULD have had success in the NFL, but a serious of circumstances really stunted his ability.  People started saying the Panthers would probably take Cam anyway, so it was homework time to see for myself his game. After a couple of youtube highlight videos (obviously the best method of scouting players lol), I could quickly tell he was not Vince Young.  No weird side arm mechanics and some semblance of a presence in the pocket.  I quickly began figuring he could scoot around as sort of a poor-man's Big Ben/Mike Vick hybrid.  All the running ability in the world, but could likely use it to consistently extend plays until coverage broke or a running lane opened. I felt he'd become a stud player, but thought he'd struggle mightily in his first few years if forced into running a pro style offense.  Certainly did not expect the success to come so soon.
