A grown ass man wearing a jersey is a bit suspect to begin with. At least if you're at the actual game where the team is playing it's OK but don't be the dumbass wearing a jersey of a team that's not even playing.
When there are hundreds of millions of guns in circulation no amount of background checks, registration, required permits or other such laws will stop criminals or mentally ill from getting guns. With something like 30% of households in the US having guns it's extremely easy for anyone to get a gun. Break into a couple houses, boom, you've got a gun. And like 99% of locks and other security measures widely used in homes today are a joke and don't stop anyone. This happens so often that criminals don't even have to steal one themselves. They can just buy a stolen one on the streets, usually for far less than you would pay buying one legally. That's not to say we should let a violent criminal or mentally ill person walk into any gun store and buy a gun. We shouldn't, but don't pretend that creating more hoops to jump through to obtain a gun legally is going to keep guns out of the wrong hands when it's already so easy to get one illegally.
