I would love to have Bernie as a President. He would only be a one termer I think but we need one of those.
I don't think he'd be that successful in implementing many of his ideas without large Dem majorities in Congress which most likely is not going to happen, but at least people would have to listen to his ideas, many of which are great or at least common sense.
But America does not want a smart president with good ideas. They want someone who looks good on TV, can say the right things when needed, and knows how to wear an American flag pin. Policies and ideas are second tier considerations.

The fact that perhaps 10 percent of the population had a come to Jesus moment concerning this dumb flag is actually a big deal disguised as nothing important.
The whole "pride vs. racism" thing has taken a big pivot to the correct side of history, and it's another chink in the armor of the defenders of this idea that the Confederate flag is some kind of symbol of pride or whatever. Seems to me that half of the people that still support flying that thing are more into it because it's an anti-establishment thing to do, not because of some affinity with a cause.

    Summer
I hope this becomes somewhat interesting for those of you that enjoy the pregame festivities as much as the game itself! I will be doing some writing on prep, supplies, tools, recipes, links to our tailgate photos etc.
I've been fortunate to be involved with a great group of folks that call ourselves Pantherfanz - our website is http://www.pantherfanz.net if you want to check it out. I've been with them since 2002 and we've had a lot of great times, and pulled off some pretty epic parties in the lot over the years. Our main cooking platform has been our Brinkmann smoker with our favorite thing to cook being our Pantherfanz Pork shoulder, but we've modified our routine over the years by introducing an electric smoker to help with the sometimes large amounts of food needed. We also have another really large grill that can hold an entire pig if needed, and there are always a few folks who bring their own grills so finding some heat is usually not a problem.

The smoker also has two high output gas burners which are insanely helpful, they can boil giant amounts of water quickly, get coals hot in minutes using a coal starter, and we have a metal cooking surface that sits on top of them for making stuff like cheesesteaks. Most people pulling into a parking lot space are not going to be able to lug around this much hardware, but you can get single portable burners that hook right up to your propane tank. One thing you never seem to have enough of at a tailgate is time, so being able to quickly heat up food and serve it = more time hanging out!

I like cooking for people, coming up with a plan, and prepping the night before the game, it's kind of like tailgating starts the day before that way. There are a lot of factors to consider when you are cooking in a parking lot for a lot of people - one thing I learned early on is that you can't forget to bring plates or bowls, forks and knives etc. for whatever you are cooking. It's a fact that whenever I think that we have all that stuff covered in the general supplies...we don't. People are a lot more likely to try your creations if you can provide them something to put them in!

    Stay tuned....

I'm not really sold on the statues looking into the stadium instead of out onto the street but I get it. The benches are a great addition, they are also adding what looks like an elevated plant/garden area between the east and north gates, right against the stadium. They just moved the barriers and covers out of the way this week and I have not wandered over there since, maybe I can do that this afternoon.

Im going tonight with my stepson. Tickets are actually thin, this place sells out pretty much.
Went a couple of weeks ago and was amazed at the quality of the estrogen based scenery in the park.
Tickets are 25 bucks down to like 8 for standing room. Thursdays are cheap beer nights, 3 dollar domestics is a decent price for a sports venue. There are several food options that are pretty good.

correlation does not equal causation, but at least some of our tax money is going to do some good in the world instead of just building more poo that blows up other poo
