  1. Dem Debate - One on One, Bernie vs Hillary

It has taken generations for the rich and powerful to claw back all the control and privilege they enjoyed prior to FDR.  Dismantling the post depression banking regulations during the Clinton era was a cause for celebration by the monetary elite.  Within a decade most of us who cared realized why our grandparents appreciated FDR's policies so much and elected him to office so many times. Thanks to Reagan's failed trickle down/voodoo economics the gap between the very wealthy and the rest of our society is as bad or worse than the pre-FDR crony capitalist 1920s, just before the Big Crash. Many of the rich and powerful in this country see their greed as a good thing.  Greed does motivate some people to be more productive than they would otherwise be, but taken to the extreme, where we are today, it results in an unhealthy concentration of wealth threatening our consumer society and our representative democracy. It won't be easy, what that is worthwhile is?  However, the alternative is allowing current trend to continue to their logical conclusion and that will result in the destruction of our freedom and ultimately our nation. The 1% have left us with no other options.
  2. Ted Ginn Jr. Running Out of Bounds

From the one angle viewed on TV it appeared he was bracketed all the way to the sidelines.  Not sure there was much additional yardage to be had by taking a hit in that situation.
  3. An Interesting Clete Blakeman Stat

Are the refs incompetent or biased?   Who really knows for sure, there is so much going on during these games it is likely they could call penalties every down if they chose to do so. The question is, what if any rational do these refs use to determine when or when not to call a penalty? When the calls are highly one sided, it definitely generates reason for concern and wouldn't be the first time in SB history. Still remember the Seattle-Pittsburgh SB as a good example of one sided, game changing, critical calls that were suspect.

Maybe it is just me, but I've never liked CBS's NFL coverage for this very reason SB or not.

As you are well aware...  NC requires a minimum coverage on your auto policy, just like the ACA.
  6. Why should I ever register

The difference between the two parties is narrowing with each election cycle as each party races further and further to the right in hopes of pleasing their corporate masters.  Less corporate regulation, less corporate taxes and screw the nation, screw the public. The average American is only relevant to "our" government representatives during election cycles where enough are conned with fear tactics and hate to keep the majority divided and the 1% in control. Election reform is desperately needed (get private big/special interest money out of politics).  Once that is accomplished our elected officials will be free to do their jobs... representing the American public not corporate America.
  7. Dem Debate - One on One, Bernie vs Hillary

In post war America higher education was highly subsidized by government until the "Reagan Revolution".  So we already know what that world looks like... a well educated population without decades of associated debt. Our healthcare system is in a serious mess, no doubt about it.  The ACA is the best possible outcome in a congress captured by the private healthcare industry.  Over half of Americans were projected to be unable to afford health insurance by the year 2020 had things remained the same. Are healthcare costs out of control?  Definitely, especially when you compare Americans expenditures on healthcare in relation to the rest of the civilized world.  Unfortunately, half the country refuses to acknowledge that reality.  So for now this is the best we can do.  At least half the country is not going to lose their coverage by 2020.
  8. Dem Debate - One on One, Bernie vs Hillary

The biggest supporters of the Patriot Act are the GOP establishment and "socialists" like Obama.  Are "commies" like this guy the only ones left willing to speak in defense of American liberty?
  9. JNo - To Tag or Not to Tag?

    Marty is that you?
  10. Aqib Talib Further Proves Why He Is A POS Human Being

Refs had every opportunity to control this behavior, just like in NY, the chose not to. Helmet to helmet, going for the knees and late hits on Cam.  Hard to conceive of the Panthers doing the same thing to Peyton, much less getting away with it.
  11. JNo - To Tag or Not to Tag?

DG will make a more than fair offer to Josh that will make him wealthy enough for many lifetimes over.   However, if Josh is looking to make top dollar on the free market he is going to get tagged for next season. At that point the team will find and groom his replacement.   DG all but said this in his press conference this morning.
  12. Aqib Talib Further Proves Why He Is A POS Human Being

Cam said "I will do whatever is necessary to bring a Super Bowl championship to Carolina". Well watching Denver play Sunday, they took that idea to another level.  It appears that they threw the rule book out the window when it came to career/life ending cheap shots to win the SB.
  13. If Cam Newton wasn't a Panther...

This^^^.    There are plenty of posters here who lack any objectivity when it comes to players and their behavior.  These fans are homers or haters, seems to be no middle ground for them.
  14. Aqib Talib Further Proves Why He Is A POS Human Being

I am sure we are not the only Panther fans to have thought of this.   At this point in their careers (for entirely different reasons) I view Steve Smith and Gregg Hardy as guns for hire. Would have loved to have had them both on the field Sunday. Is there any doubt that when Denver punched us in the mouth early on, these two would have smiled back and opened a can of whup-ass on the Broncos?
