  1. I don't care for too much network tv, but am like you prefer to binge if I find a show I like, vs waiting for it to air live every week. HBO: The wire, Game of Thrones, Sopranos, True detective season 1, Boardwalk empire(never personally made it to the end and not even sure how close I got but was still a great show), Rome, Kenny Powers. Showtime: Homeland,Billions, Dexter.
  2. Current cap space

35 million. After paying draft class falls to 30.8 million. Currently slated to have 60 million in 17. Time to lock up short and star before they hit the open market.
  3. Josh Norman agrees to terms with Redskins...

Start naming elite corners under 30. Norman, Peterson, Sherman. crickets.
  4. Josh Norman agrees to terms with Redskins...

I am not a blind Gettleman worshiper, however I due agree with him on the decision to pull the tag. Just too much to invest for a year rental. Also had potential to cause a locker room distraction, or even could hurt Normans play if the situation got in his head too much. I was pissed when they franchised Hardy(before the domestic abuse news broke), knowing there was little to 0 chance a long term deal could work out. That year we could have actually spent the money on offensive tackle help, instead of blaming cap hell for rolling with Bell and Chandler.
  5. Josh Norman agrees to terms with Redskins...

I agree. Brown is unstoppable. He's too complete.
  6. Josh Norman agrees to terms with Redskins...

Well it appears to me we at least agree I am being rational and you are not. Once you calm down a better conversation can probably be had.
  7. Josh Norman agrees to terms with Redskins...

To be fair, he did show his ability to hold his own against OBJ and Dez last year, plus many other top receivers last year as well.
  8. Josh Norman agrees to terms with Redskins...

How would risking yourself for injury and becoming a year older going to increase your leverage? I don't think you understand how this works, or your probably like many others on here and just over reacting because we are losing a great player.
  9. Josh Norman agrees to terms with Redskins...

You can't guarantee that he only has 2-3 years left. He came into the league at 24 and has only been a full time starter for 2 years. The wearand tear on his body would be more similar to a player who's 2-3 years younger.Additionally, it's not like he relies on elite speed or any other attribute thats likely to take a rapid decline due to his age. No real injury history to worry you. Also people, clamoring that he was a product of our system or that he won't do as well in another teams defense, is something only time will tell. I'd be willing to say his skills helped our pass rush as much or more as the pass rush helped him. I really wanted to keep Josh, but you have to draw a line in the sand once his demands reached a certain point. I don't know what my personal cut off would have been, but 15 million/year is certainly not a number I think we should have entertained. Another under appreciated fact heres isthe most important part of the contract is the initial 3 year payout (the money the player is most likely to see all of). Norman just blew right past every top corner in the league, including Sherman, Peterson, and Revis who all recently signed long term deals. It will be very tough for him to live up to the deal, but as we saw with other positions this year, very good to elite players are getting insane money now and have no problem finding multiple suitors to pay their asking price or at least get close. Its all relative, but I will miss him for sure.

Actually I was just reading up on the Peppers thing as a refresher early, as this situation reminded me of when and Muhammad left us. Moose literally did bolt for more money. Peppers however, was offered to be the highest paid in the league the year before he left. Once he decided to leave, he stated it was more about the direction of the football team and his lack of faith in Trgovac more so than money. Had Josh played for the franchise tag as you suggest, he could have missed out on up to 61 million, so him leaving for a 140- 150% raise, is not being greedy, rather its just smart. You mention the franchise tag as being a huge raise, from his perspective he gave us lights out play for pennies last year. Its possible he felt we weren't being loyal to him, since we offered 25 million less than he was actually able to obtain. Either way, nothing about this makes him a greedy asshole.
  11. Josh Norman agrees to terms with Redskins...

Why would anyone hate Josh for the contract he just got? They offered him 140 to 150% more than we were reported to have offered. Had he left for compensation slightly above what we offered, then the hate would be more justified. Literally can't blame Gettleman for not coming close to that and can't blame Norman for taking it. I wish him well and I hope he earns every penny.
  12. I too feel like he will be solid but not a consistent game changer.
  13. Josh Norman hiring new agent to be lead on his new deal

Panthers.com seems to have conceded to the fact that he's gone
  14. The game of poker between Gettleman and Norman's camp

I could see that, but personally I'd rather have him testing the waters now. I'd have to imagine that if Norman was an unrestricted free agent on day 1, he might have signed with Giants at a bigger deal than Jenkins got or another team that spent big which would have made him their number 1 target.
  15. Post-Norman compensatory pick outlook

Good call on the may 12th deadline. I am sure that played a factor in the decision to pull the plug now vs waiting it out and potentially costing ourselves a comp pick
