Awesome!  We are only a few more pages of posts away from the Huddle's annual "The 5th string running back should be starting" post.

That is actually the only part Shula gets right (some of the time anyways).  Sometimes you have to go against tendencies on 3rd down.  The defense knows you want to throw a short pass near the first down marker and will play accordingly.   I don't fault Shula for that.  I just think his overall philosophies are what is holding the offense back.

If you are talking about the 2 point conversion, there is not a coach in the league that wouldn't have went for two in preseason.

  4. rainwater added a post in a topic Where to watch the first pre-season game?

Well, if you are in the US, you can't watch the games live in the regular season (you can watch replays though).  The NFL can't do live regular season streams because of Directv's Sunday Ticket.

Cam isn't any player.  He's wearing a big red jersey for a reason.  Maybe Cam overreacted but Norman has to know better than that.

Doubtful since his snaps will be limited especially at the beginning of the season.  Plus, his position in general is replaced by a CB against most teams that pass a lot.

Not if they gave me millions of dollars on the way out. But it is just an ego thing for athletes like Smitty. Deep down I'm sure he has a lot of love for the Panthers still.
