It just makes you wonder how in the world they can have the team that they have when you think of their depth.

It's looking like our defense is our only hope...that and Cam goes HAM.

Remember when they were our division rivals?  Garrison Hearst.

The 49ers are what the panthers could be right now had we managed our cap correctly.

Exactly.....$20M of dead cap space....RB's with ridiculous cap hits....CJ with a $17M cap hit next season.

These are the reasons.....not decision that Gett and RR are making now.

Gett is mythodically working to shed the dead weight.....but, it will take a couple of seasons to get it done.

If they had a quarterback that could utilize more than one receiver per dropback then it might mean something. But when he comes in last in passing yardage next season too there won't be any excuses other than the fact he flat out sucks.

They can have as many number ones as they want, they still have to drive down the field to score one touchdown at a time and none of those guys play defense. It gives them a better chance of having someone open on any given play but none of those guys are always open even though Boldin is most of the time. It's just another thing that looks scary/sounds great for them, but this isn't the NBA. You just can't really be that worried, we have physical DBs who aren't afraid to hit, that worked out great in the regular season against them and back-fired against us in the playoffs. As we saw with many games last season, especially the last Saints game, our defense is going to hold any offense tight. Our offense is just a drive away-- as long as we stay clutch when it matters and control the ball we will always have a chance. And it makes it that much more demoralizing for them and fun for us if we beat them with a final drive touchdown.

Stevie Johnson is a great receiver but notorious for drops at critical times. The Niners are stacked. I think the addition of Carlos Hyde is greater than Johnson. Gore tends to wear down later in the season and is old in RB years. The addition of Hyde will help their running game tremendously.

Looking at the difference in size alone at last January's playoff game, the Panthers have a long way to go. The Panthers are small compared to San Fran and Seattle. Seattle's OL/DL pushed Denver around the Super Bowl. At this point in the off season, it just seems like the teams that the Panthers have to compete against are getting better and better. While the cap strapped Panthers are treading water if not going backwards. I can't ignore what the division and the conference powers have so far this off season. Just hoping the Panthers can pick it up from here on.

Ahh so this is what Shawn King meant by getting Cam weapons.

Envy will get you nowhere.

He also mentioned that you don't have a left tackle multiple times.

The only Reason the came in our house and beat us was because Goodell wanted a SF/SEA rematch. We would have owned them if not for lop sided officiating.

Those two goal line stances had nothing to do with the game. Nothing at all.

Is this the reason for not drafting an LT, ever, and finally getting a potential #1 WR in the last couple of years? Because you're cap strapped? Please let this be the answer because I don't get it.

Kaepernick will still stare down one receiver.. So I think we're good.

Kaepernick is an incredible qb. Almost 400 yds and 2 tds in the SB, better than most qbs that actually win the SB lol. He outgained and outscored flacco that game 29-27, not his fault the team let him down. Did i mention that was his 10th start? Comes into this year with only Boldin and VD as targets. Some games only Boldin (colts game, VD left panthers game up 9-0). Still 10th in passer rating (higher than cam) still 7th in yds per attempt (higher than cam). Those are the stats that matter not total yardage which is correlated to amount of attempts. Almost won IN Seattle with a 80% crabs, Boldin dropping balls and VD who disappears against them because hes scared of chancellor. Did i mention Gore had 14yds? Yall should stop the hate before its too late.
