Moss, only because of his height. Yeah, I know, Smitty can jump, but still. He beats Smitty by like 1%. Then again, put Moss on a bad team and he doesn't care. Put Smith on one, and like you said, he has no quit in him.

I'm sorry, I think Fitzgerald is excellent too, but he is not better than Steve Smith. Steve Smith can do everything he can do and then some. Smith has better speed, can break more tackles, can take over a game better than any other in Football. Like I said, Smith is a mirror image of Jerry Rice.

ok... here are my lists... there are three of them...

Hall of Fame caliber as a wide receiver right now in their career:

1. Moss
2. Smith
3. Johnson
4. Harrison
5. Fitzgerald

Best pure talent at the wide receiver this season:

1. Smith
2. Johnson
3. Moss
4. Fitsgerald
5. Harrison

What order I think they will be in in the Hall of Fame at the end of their careers, just compared to each other, not the other receivers in there right now.

1. Johnson
2. Smith
3. Moss
4. Harrison
5. FitzGerald, if he even gets in, which I doubt he will, tbh.

Calvin Johnson is an incredible talent, he has abilities unlike anything I have ever seen, and he will not be on the Lions forever, I promise you tha

moss has a little bit better hands, but he doesnt have the YAC ability that smith has. overall, smith is a better weapon. moss only seems to be a deep threat, while smitty can run the ball, reverses, decoy whatever you want from him.

I'd take Anquan Boldin over Harrison everyday of the week

Smitty. He's a bulldog with rocket skates. Moss is a gazelle, but I question his toughness, specifically his ability to go across the middle and make the tough catch, about to get blown up

Not to mention Smitty's ability to de-cleat defensive ends.

Randy Moss is great for throwing over top of defenses but I'll take Smitty because not only can he get behind corners and safeties (althought admittedly Randy is the BEST at this) Smitty is tough as nails going over the middle. Randy doesn't relish contact like Smitty does. Both are great of course but I'd take Smitty every day over any wide receiver in the league.

Smith's toughness goes a long way. When any other WR gets blasted after a catch I always think "we'll he's going to think twice about doing that again", when Smitty gets blasted I think "well there you've gone and pissed him off". You can hit him as hard as you want, he won't tone it down one bit.

you have to remember steve is in a run first offense that helps him a lot.but boldin and fitzgerald are in a pass heavy offense and still make plays.

If Smitty played in a pass first offense, he'd be leading the league in receptions, yards, and TD's every year.

I don't understand your line of thinking and maybe I'm misreading what you're trying to say, but Smitty gets double coverage already, he's not going to get any more/less double coverage if he were in a pass first offense. He'd just get more opportunities to burn defenders.

agreed... I can't remember who it was but it was a few years ago when he made a catch and got hit on like the 5 yard line and I thought he had died on the field.... but he jumped up before the defender did beating his chest and pointing to heaven.... and ever since that hit, when I see him take a lick I say oh sh*t, ya'll messed up.

Smith and it's not even close for me.
Smith - he's faster / quicker, better in traffic, never quits, blocks on all running plays, plays with more heart and controled aggression than anyone I've ever seen. Out jumps guys 6 inches taller than him for the ball and always comes down with it. Imagine Smity with PManning or Brady...he would have 2000 yards in a season!

Moss - great player, but quits on too many plays, doesn't block on runs and is a general pain in the ass. Some positives, he's lightning fast, has great hands, and is an awesome red zone target.
