1996 Kentucky, 1982 N. Carolina, 1992 Duke

Rank them.

1. 96 UK

2. 92 Duke

3. 82 UNC

Since the expansion I'd agree. If we are going back back in time I'd say a few UCLA teams are better and you'd have to consider the '74 NCSU team on the top 5 list as well.

The 1999 team, it was so talented....which made it's loss to UCONN that much more maddening.

Yep.

Same can be said for the 2004 debacle against U-Conn

To be hypothetical here, I think a team that would have crushed all of those list above (if the players hadn't left for the NBA) would have been the 1997-1998 UNC Tar Heels. Starting line up would have included something like:

Antwan Jameson

Vince Carter

Jerry Stackhouse

Rasheed Wallace

Ed Cota

On the bench you would have had:

Brendan Haywood

Shammond Williams

The same UNC team that needed a brain fart by their opponent to win it? The same UNC team that beat its opponents by less than 15 points? That team struggled to beat James Madison.

The 96 UK team beat everyone it played by 20-40 points. Duke beat UK by one to get to the Final Four then Indiana by three.
