Oderick Turner

3 posts in this topic

The Panthers I heard were scouting Oderick Turner, WR from Pittsburgh. I remember when he was one of the top freshmen few years back but kind of fell out of grace. He seems like a steal at the end of the draft or PFA. He is 6'3" 205 pounds. He has 4.48 speed with a 41 inch vertical. I think he might be a good gamble towards the end because he did have huge potential and can block for Turner because he was known as a blocking WR since Stull only threw Baldwin the ball. What do you guys think of him in maybe the tail end of the draft??! Keep him on our roster for a year or two while he develops? He is similar to Muhsin Muhammad.

one of the biggest disappointments in cfb the last 3 years. idk, the upside is unquestioned, but is he an athlete or a football player?

Well he got shafted for a couple years with Bostick(god awful!) and Stull seemed to have tunnel vision to Baldwin mainly and Dickerson some. Turner can definitely block but he did have his best year under the second best quarterback he played with in Palko. He did disappoint but he has the intangibles to make a difference. I might be a bit biased since I am from NJ like him but eh!

    • This is a hypothetical scenario that maybe should be taken into consideration going into the draft in April.  What part of the team would suffer the most if they lost a key player on the respective side? - If we lose Greg Olsen to injury how much of a drop off is their on offense -If we lose a Safety, DE, or LB how much of a drop off is their on defense -Personally I think the offense would loose basically 1/5 of the production and with no real depth to make an impact.
    • I used to hold out hope, but I think that it's become obvious that the organization really doesn't him like that. He worked very hard to put on a little muscle and refine his game before the past season, but still didn't get any real play, despite those in front of him playing lackluster ball. Throw in the fact that we've added another couple of suspect receivers and are searching for upgrades via the draft, I just don't believe that they believe Byrd is that guy.
