Yeah, they said he looked pretty good the first 2 days too. Sad.

Leonard has yet to practice while recovering from a leg injury last season and nobody else has really jumped to the forefront at this point, although a few have shown flashes.

“It’s going to be competitive inside,” Baker said. “If you wanted to make me name who the starting tackles are going to be, I truly couldn’t do it right now. I don’t know who’s going to be on the 53-(man roster) at this point -- and that’s good and bad. You like to know who your guys are going to be, but the good thing is there are a lot of guys who are good enough to start.”

All I can say if Leonard don't start praticing soon. He will likly get cut and panthers will be looking at the waiver wires when teams begin to cut players near the end of training camps. I can't see the panthers keeping a guy who can't seem to get heathly long enough to even do camp and play a entire season. I see Leonard as a injury prone type player.

we traded a 2009 pick for him, so he isn't getting cut.

It was an ankle injury on a 310+lb man. At this point I think they are just making 100% sure that it is fully healed and ready for action. After the TD fiasco I am all for this approach.

Leonard isn't a rookie and he seems to be in good enough condition. Let him sit it out and make sure he is completely healed. Johnson and Tank need the reps anyways.

8. I’m still not sure if the Panthers will keep kickoff specialist Todd Carter or let Jason Baker handle that role.

I really hope Baker can be good enough to handle kickoff duties. We really need an extra roster spot.

Rookie WR Brandon LaFell looks extremely smooth running routes and is turning heads. "He's good at route running," CB Chris Gamble said. "He's kind of quick off the line, and he catches the ball well."

DB Marcus Hudson has been carried off the field, and trainers are applying ice to his calf. A free-agent signee, Hudson is hoping to earn a backup role in the secondary.

Leonard can't be that hurt and I wouldn't worry about him at all. He was goofing off with the linebackers before morning practice and kept lining up at receiver in some defensive drill led by Richard Smith.
