After 5 losses to begin the inaugural season, the Panthers broke into the win column for the first time with a 26-15 victory over the visiting New York Jets. It was the start of a 4 game winning streak.

That Jets game was a great game! I had a blast way back when! It was so exciting to finally see the Panthers win a real game! The shovel pass is still one of the 5 best Panther highlights of all time!

I was there... I remember distinctly (I was 8 yrs old) hearing the Jets fans and their ghey chant and I would stand up with the drunk asses behind us and say S U C K suck suck suck... hahah good times

anyways. I remember when we would gain a yard on the 49ers back then and everyone would cheer and I turned to my dad and said WTF (what) and he said we just gained a yard on the best team in football. Little did we know we would own the 49ers in the NFC west for the rest of the time we were there.
