Boxer Pups

Yea, I've had 2 Boxers and knew someone who had a couple of white Boxers. They were insane. One of them was borderline retarded. I had a brindle boxer and I have a fawn one now. A kid I went to high school with had a reverse brindle boxer that looked amazing.

White Boxers are sweet and loving dogs, but that's only part of the reason I want one. They just don't have the intelligence of a brindle or fawn.

Also boxers will go insane if neglected.

EDIT: I do think white boxers have less of a tendency to "bully" or be "stubborn" though.

My rescues were only about $100 each and they were about 3 months when we got them. They are both great and don't have any emotional damage, one is just super hyper (Chow/Shephard Mix) and the other is super lazy (Boxer/Rodesian Ridgeback Mix) so the whole getting them in pairs so they play was BS. When I looked around pure breads were anywhere from $300-$1000 and often times it's fake anyway. The first one I got was the last of his litter and locked up all day because he didn't have his shots so he couldn't play with the other puppies. The second one was wandering the streets of Mexico starving, sick, and nearly dead when the adoption agency took it to California. After I adopted the second one they even paid all the vet bills to get him healthy. This is going to sound terribly gay but it makes me feel really good inside when I look at them knowing that I saved their lives and I think they are happier, more loving dogs because they know it too.

I guess the moral would be not to rule out rescues because if you look hard enough you can find a puppy you'll like.

I have a brindle and a fawn. If you're in the Charlotte area check out Blue Ridge boxer rescue. We just got the fawn puppy for $250.

Yah I looked at Blue Ridge Boxer. Several of theirs were 325$ and a couple of mixes are 150$.

I agree most "purebreds" aren't purebreds. I've seen a lot that have pit in them, some that have lab in them. I'm going for something with heavy jowels and short back legs.

That's why I'm being very picky and looking for someone I can trust instead of just going by some papers because I don't want my boxer looking decidedly non-boxerish a year down the road.

But thanks for the help everyone. I may end up going with Blue Ridge if I can't find a good rehome. One thing on my side is I'm patient.

I want one badly, specifically a fancy fawn. Anyone know any good breeders that won't charge an arm and a leg for a purebred?

Papers and pedigree don't matter, I just want to be able to trust the people I get the pup from.

I know some good dudes in the Charlotte area.

I also said they make sweet and loving dogs, and wonderful pets. But they don't learn as fast.

I have a cousin in Goldsboro who breeds Boxers. I recall him posting on Facebook that he had some for sale. He's a reliable guy. I'll try to find the post and let you know how much he wants for them.

    • Of course, he's so massive he has his own gravitational pull.
    • You miss the point. Taylor was here before. We picked him because of what he could do for our wide receivers not because he had some great knowledge no other person had on the staff. Shula and Rivera and Gettleman studied multiple college systems for months before signing Taylor or drafting McCaffrey or Curtis and would have drafted the same whether Taylor was here or not. They liked the way Taylor developed McCaffrey which showed his talent but Stanford's offense wasn't Taylors idea or unique to him. Shula has a connection to Taylor as early as when Shula was at Alabama.  The debate was whether Taylor was chosen to replace Shula because Shula didn't know what to do to run a college offense and if he screwed up Taylor would replace him. And that Taylor was the reason and most influential in getting McCaffrey. I said it wasn't even close to the truth and this plan predated Taylor and was more thorough and we'll thought out. Everything since then just confirms I was right once again like usual.
