How does this sound?

There's always talk about trading the #1 overall. I can't see us doing so unless its to a team with an extra 2nd rounder to burn and a need at QB. That gives us New England and Denver as potential trading partners. Orton is probably on the outs, and a new coach in Denver won't show The Golden Calf of Bristol any favors. Hence my reasoning for picking them. Hell, we could probably get both second rounders and a couple of other future picks for the prospect of drafting Luck.

I agree with the idea that you don't trade away the chance to pick up a franchise QB. But we're gonna see plenty of this crap until the draft, might as well start it here.

How about the Titans? They'll probably have a Top Seven pick. Who and what would you want?

2011 Round One (~ number 7)

2011 Round Two

2012 Round Two

CB Courtland Finnegan

You don't pass on a franchise QB unless you already have one.

Nothing more true has ever been spoken

It would take much more than just a swap and an extra 2nd, we'd need player(s) and another 1st rounder next year even. The reverse of the jay cutler trade. Nothing is worth passing on Luck. Plus we can dangle Clausen for a 2nd round choice and Re-sign Moore who can win games in the NFL, and keep Pike.

Im from Indiana and Clausen fan but hes just not the type thats going to be successful in the NFL. He reminds me of a Tyler Hansbrough, extremely talented players and great competitors in the college ranks but over matched and undersized for their positions in the pros.

errr...Tyler Hansbrough has been pretty good in the NBA (when not injuried)

Clausen can be pretty good if he actually had a healthy, blocking O-Line, a consistent running game and a "real" veteran mentor (Moore looks like a weedhead). I miss Delhomme :(

Panthers can take Luck, AJ Green, P. Peterson, Fairley or Dareus. I will be happy that they are improving either way.
